Best meal I ever ate:

Din Tai Fung Soup Dumplings in Taipei (not Beijing) tied with Taiwanese Dan Dan Mien on Yong Khang Jie, Zingerman's Reuben, and Rao's Bone-in-Veal parm

My current drink of choice:

Maker's Mark Old Fashioned, Hennessy and Pineapple Juice or Johnnie Walker Red with Green Tea

I really wish I could:

get some real southwestern food in the city and a quality sushi delivery spot in the East Village (tons of cheap ones, but none good). I also wish that all the purveryors of crappy American Chinese Food would leave Chinatown and serve the authentic food.

My "Go-to" dinner party dish:

Beef and Hwa Jia Dumpling or Pork and Cabbage Dumplings

My favorite comfort food:

I don't like the term comfort food. It's demeaning to people who eat homestyle food everyday. All I eat is comfort food, unless I have to go out to eat with uppity people from work. BUT, if you press me, I like Taiwanese minced pork over rice with pickled radish and boiled tea egg.

My top 5 favorite restaurants:

My Mom's Taiwanese food (egg+tomato, minced pork over rice, pig intestine noodle soup, spicy beef noodle soup, my dad's dan dan mien, white fried rice with green onion-no soy, pork chop on rice, etc), Duo Yi (flushing), Peter Luger's, Zingerman's, Rao's
