I would also recommend trying helado (gelato/ice cream) in BsAs. My favorite place is Nonna Bianca in San Telmo, at Estados Unidos 425. Limon al pisco is particularly good. But the city is full of heladarias, they are very popular and tasty here. I would second La Gran Parrilla del Plata and try ordering provoleta as an appetizer, many parrilas have it, it is provolone cheese grilled on the parillla.

Great new Nepali / Indian restaurant in Somerville: Masala
This is one of our favorite new restaurants, along with nearby Istanbulu. We've been twice, once eating off the indian side, once off the nepali. Everything was great, especially:
Mo-mo chicken (nepali dumplings), dal makhani (lentils) & rojesh lamb. Naan is super fresh and tasty.

There is Reliable Market in Union Square Somerville, and Lotte Market on Mass Ave. in Cambridge near MIT (walking distance from #70 central sq bus stop from Waltham).

That is sad news, I loved Trinas and the side parlor was a great little spot, my neighborhood cocktail place. We need another sports bar like we need another Irish bar.

Saw that Valhalla is taking over the space of CCTV on Prospect St in Central Sq. Looks like people from All Asia.

Does anyone remember the restaurant Cappuccino's in Newton?
I have had great white sangrias at Channel Cafe in Fort Point.

Has anyone heard anything about either the Cambridge Barisimo opening (it was on this thread a few months ago) or the year plus "opening soon" Korean place in Harvard Sq, Bull?

I really like making it with Goya ginger beer, it seems spicier/more gingerier to me and, as a bonus, is super cheap.
SELTZER HOME DELIVERY BOSTON
very cool, do you have instructions, I'm not handy enough to figure this out.
SELTZER HOME DELIVERY BOSTON
I know this is different, but after spending time in Buenos Aires we felt the same way, that we wanted seltzer with every meal, and settled on sodastream home seltzer maker. The hardware store in porter and the Boston Shaker in Davis carry them. Much less waste than buying disposable bottles.

Moving to Hyde Square - your advice requested
Alex's Chimi's for Dominican style rotisserie chicken, the thing I miss most about Hyde Square.
MIami restaurant for great Dominican/Cuban food, and nice cafe con leche. El Oriental de Cuba has a nice con leche too for your coffee needs.
A lot of friends have gone to the new Tres Gatos in the old Rhythm and Muse bookstore and dug the spanish tapas there.
I really like Sorellas for what it is, a cheap greasy breakfast joint. I think its best to stick to simple things like eggs and french toast.

Victoria Beer?
Anybody know if Victoria beer is available somewhere in near Cambridge/Somerville? I had it in Mexico and it was a tasty alternative there to Corona. I saw people saying it was recently made available in in the US in TX and Chicago. I know there are much better Mexican beers, but I liked it as a lighter summer beer and wanted to find it here. Thanks.

Anyone hear anything about Bull in Harvard Sq? They were supposed to open last summer, then fall, and they have a sign up but their website still just says coming soon. Seems like they are on floating rock time?
Good Mexican (I realize we're in a wasteland, lol)
Tu Y O outside Davis Square is really good.
Papagayo in Fort Point just opened, and while I haven't been a friend from Arizona loved it.

Narragansett Bock -- local availability?
I bought some at the wine and cheese cask in Somerville.
Venue space for rent where you can bring your own food?
We were looking into similar places and liked this, even though we ended up going elsewhere and renting a restaurant. Its where dancing on the Charles is held and they told us that we could bring food, and they have an alcohol license/bar.

Thanks, Etete sounds great. And yes, southern is definitely interesting to us, 2 in our group are originally from Alabama. Any suggestions for southern?
Suggestions for intl' restaurants for long weekend in DC proper
We will be staying around embassy row, without car. We would like to explore some of the unique ethnic restaurants in DC, or just ones that DC does well. I have heard great things about the Thai and Ethiopian, and hoping to find a great burmese. Open to other stuff too, just not too fancy and ideally on the metro/walking distance from embassy row.
thanks
who makes the the best frozen (for cooking at home) Chinese dumplings?
I've been getting them from some of the Chinatown markets, I think its CMart. The brand is Chinese Spaghetti Factory, 50 pack. They are almost as good as Wangs frozen, but less expensive and easier to pick up after work. A friend said his grandmother made dumplings by boiling the water, dropping the dumplings in, then when it comes to boil again drop a cup of water in, and repeat when it boils again, then strain after it boils. We make the sauce with rice vinegar, soy sauce, a little sesame oil and chives.

New Bedford dinner and breakfast suggestions
On the way back to Cambridge from the beach we went to New Bedford and had a great time so decided to go back and stay the night this weekend. Last time we went to a brick oven pizza place that was really tasty but wanted to try something else this time, with table service. Any ideas? I have heard there is a Portugese place (Antonios) that sounds good and a Tapas place (Cork) that Im not sure about. Those types of restaurants are available in Boston so if they are particurly good its worth going, but maybe there is something more unique to New Bedford? Anyway, any suggestions of other places or are those two really good. Any great little ethnic places? Breakfast?
thanks
I need Help Planning a Rehearsal Dinner
Not too far from Long Wharf is Fort Point (maybe a mile). There is a great restaurant, Channel Cafe, where I am having my wedding of about the same size as your dinner. I would definitly reccomend it.

The food is amazing its in a cool old building of artist live/work space and has a gallery.
Anyone know anything about Poppa B's?
Is it closed? I read one post on here that said they saw a for sale sign, and called them but the number seemed to be dead. I can't accept that one of my favorite brunch places is gone. Anyone know if they are reopening? thanks
Nice, affordable dinner for two (Moroccan?) in Cambridge/downtown
I have had a great experiences at Baraka. I remember really digging the Bedenjal Mechoui (eggplant with yogurt) for an appetizer and Melfouf la Kasbah (lots of meats) for entree. The people who run it are great, I went there once during a muslim holiday (not realizing) and they were closed, but had the door open. They invited us in and gave us some great food to eat. Try the rose lemonade, its pretty sweet but worth trying.
Need last minute reco for party of five near World Trade Center
Channel Cafe is great, they do dinner Thursday-Saturday so if its tonight, I guess not. But they have lunch today.

Best outdoor dining recommendations
I liked the outdoor area at Red Fez in the South End, Oleana is great and Bella Luna just added a patio to their new space in the Brewery in JP that looks like it'll be really nice. Its nothing fancy or great food wise, but I love taking the T boat to Charlestown (from Central Wharf/Aquarium) and getting a drink and a burger at Tavern on the Water. You can use your monthly T pass on the inner harbor boats.
