Well her visit has been delayed for another a few more weeks, but, with the weather being nice we intend to take a ride out to the Clinton House. Thanks again for the suggestion. |

It sounds like a good place to go now that the nice weather is here. Thanks for the suggestion. |

If it has a bar atmosphere that would not work, but, if they are a bar that has a separate area serving as a restaurant that would work. She would not want to eat in a bar. We go to a place in Brick that is called Craig's and I would call that a bar that has a restaurant and it's very good (at least the last time we were there and I think they have been sold). So, please make some suggestions and we will check them out. Thanks so much! |

Lemaris, thanks for all the suggestions. I had put the Old 76 house as a possible when meeting a friend from New City, but, maybe this will be the time to check it out. I will keep the others in mind for the future as some of the them look promising. Thanks and still hope others will make suggestions as this is not a one time dinner as there will be many more in the future. |

She LOVES diners, but, we HATE diners and they are the last place we want to eat. We wanted someplace nice not a noisy, busy diner. Thanks for the suggestion it's a good one, but, not for us. |

Sorry, you are right and I hate when other people do that. Bergen or Passaic County would be great. Thanks and I hope there will be some suggestions. We were just thinking about maybe taking her to The Manor for a buffet , not the seafood buffet, as we could pick out different items that she would eat. No baked potato, but, really for one day it might be ok. LOL |

My MIL is coming up (this is NOT for Mother's Day) and I have run out of restaurants to take her to. She eats very plainly. She loved Charlie Brown's because it had what she wants a salad, piece of meat, baked potato and plain veggies. Any suggestions? No Italian, Chinese, Thai, etc. LOL |

La Sorrentina, No. Bergen-- Review Thanks for the review. We also will be meeting some friends and will be up that way and was wondering if we should try Di Palma Bros., but, now after your posting and looking online about La Sorrentina they sound great and I will definitely suggest eating there. |

Does anyone remember an Italian restaurant in Elmwood Park? What was in the spot Trovato's in used to be Carnival Spot. A GREAT Italian restaurant and then they moved down 46 to another spot semi residential and only lasted a couple of years. The reason we think was because the chef - owner stopped cooking and worked the front of the house. The food was good, but, no longer great. I don't know if that's the restaurant you were thinking of. |

Flaming Grill and Supreme Buffet I think it's like $9.99 for dinner and $6.99 for lunch. Most reviews online are favorable and will maybe go check it out with friends in the next week or two. |

I definitely would recommend The Mill in spring Lake. They do it right. It's a very nice brunch and the view is very nice too. |

Well, last year someone on the board asked for recs for Millville. We have friends that live down there and this is what they suggested: Winfield’s Restaurant on High St . , near Main St . This is right in the center of town, so not far from the race track. The following are in Vineland: Lou Ferretti's Mori's On East Ave & Landis Ave in Vineland , next to the restored Landis Theater. Dakota Steak House, Rt. 55 and Landis Ave. in Vineland …..right off the highway, therefore very accessible to Millville and the track. They also have good sushi. The Newport House gets varied reviews from locals on the food, some swear by it, others say it’s just OK, but everyone seems to like the setting on the water. Annata Wine Bar and Restaurant in Hammonton is excellent. Hope the above is of some help to you. |

Best Apple Pie in Northern NJ? I would highly recommend Butterflake bakery in Teaneck. A couple of months ago we had to visit some people in Teaneck and I had always heard that the Butterflake was a good bakery. We stopped and randomly chose an apple crumb pie. I have to tell you everyone loved it. You know it just had that taste of an old fashioned bakery. It was really delicious. In fact, we can't wait to be out that way again to get another one it was that good. |

franpelyk - I toowould highly recommend Segovia's and now right down the road they have a sister restaurant which is a new Steakhouse that I have heard is excellent http://www.segoviasteakhouse.com/ IF you and your friends want a "local" sports bar two minutes from the Stadium there is a great place called Redd's http://www.reddsrestaurant.com/ |

I totally agree Curlz, I've had a number of C23's Sichuan dishes and they are delicious. The poster needed Clifton delivery and for that there is no place locally that has better food than T.S. Ma. |

wblorch - We used to go to China Garden years ago, but, then they lost Chef Lu and over the years things were never the same. Sometimes the food was very good and sometimes very bad. Have you been there recently? I would like to try them again, but, the last time I spent a ton of money for take out and it was almost inedible. |

Chengdu 23 is excellent, but, they do not deliver especially to Clifton. I have found one that is as good or IMHO a little better than Chengdu 23 and they do deliver to Clifton. It is T.S.Ma http://www.tsmachinesecuisine.com/ We have eaten there several times and had deliver to our friends house in Clifton a couple of times. They use everything fresh not processed and their food is really delicious. We were so happy to find them. My favorites are chicken with eggplant and chicken Lo Mein and especially love their veggie wonton soup. You can even order online. |
