Nashville/Memphis/Chattanooga trip report/Vegetarian options
For future reference to you and others, it is probably never a good idea to order brisket in Memphis.
Looking for great steaks in Memphis!
Ronnie Grisanti used to serve the best steak I ever had in my life. Now that he has closed his place and moved to Stella Marris, I wonder if the steak is the same.
It's hard for me to take that place seriously, but I'd go for the same steak.
Food at Disney
I hate to say it, but I think the food at the Magic Kingdom is downright bad. We are taking our kids back this year and will be going to Epcot for the first time. Please tell me the food it better. Any suggestions?
40th Birthday week in NOLA--Frequent visitor looking for a great mix of old and new
I also turn 40 this year. I would go to Galatoire's for lunch on Thursday.
We really liked the High Hat Cafe on Freret. They should have plenty of things that your wife would enjoy.

I haven't been to Root yet.
Lunch near Reelfoot Lake, during the week
Do any of the places up there still serve crappie?
BBQ On Sunday...........
Most are closed. Central is probably your best option on Sunday. Corky's, Tops and Blues City are also open.
One BBQ dinner in Memphis - A&R, BBQ Shop, Central, or Corky's for ribs?
Central and BBQ Shop would be my first two choices. They are actually not too far from each other. They both have great ribs, but I think Central are a little bit better. That being said, I think BBQ Shop has a better sandwich (it comes on Texas toast but you can request it on a bun), but you can't go wrong with either place.
Memphis & Nashville
Chez Philippe in the Peabody has been awarded 4 starts by Mobil (now Forbes) 22 years in a row. It's not cheap, but isn't New Year's Eve all about splurging? See link below.
Warning...Downtown will be crazy that night. The Liberyt Bowl is played that afternoon and the Memphis Tigers play at FedExForum (adjacent to Beale Street) that evening. Plus, it's always crowded down there on New Year's Eve. Have funa and enjoy.

Lunch within walking distance to Beale St.
The weather today turned out beautiful. I hope that y'all enjoyed it. Where did you end up dining?
Thank you Hounds! My first 3 days in Nola
The one time that I ordered something other than seafood at Galatoire's I had the best lamb chops of my entire life. I'm going back next week and can't wait.

Late night delivery in the FQ
Who has the late night delivery food and is willing to deliver to the Ritz Carlton? I know it's an odd question.
Lunch in Memphis
It's sad to hear about Slim's. It was very good and very unique when Karen Carrier owned it. She has been a tremendous asset to the Memphis culinary scene.
I'm looking for something comperable in price to La Petite Grocery
I'm heading to NOLA for a game and a couple of our buddies are on a budget. I like La Petite Grocery because I think their food is great and because they give you such a wide range in pricing options for their entrees.
You can spend $28 or $29 on beef tenderloin or duck, but you also have the option of spending $14 for a burger or risotto or $17 for shrimp and grits.
Are there any other places that offer such a variety in price points?

1st time in Memphis, 1 night need dinner recommendation, best of the best please!
If you are willing to leave Downtown try either Resaurant Iris in Midtown or Erling Jensen's in East Memphis.
If you want to stay Downtown then you'll get some other recommendations. Flight recently came in 2nd in the Memphis Flyer best restaurant poll, but I've never eaten there.

NOLA Foodie in Memphis
For a ladies trip I would suggest the Beauty Shop in Cooper-Young (short drive from Downtown) for brunch, lunch or dinnner.
For a deli try Fino's on the corner of Madison & McLean (short drive from Downtown).
For soul food try Alcenia's Downton on North Main (near the Pryamid).
I would try Gus' for fried chicken if that sounds good. There is one located Downtown.
If you are Downtown for lunch on a weekday try the Little Tea Shop on Monroe.
Are y'all staying Downtown or elsewher?

Best restaurants in Manistee or Pentwater?
Thanks. We have a cottage in Ludington so I know kind of what to expect. Ludington has some decent food, but we've eaten pretty much everywhere and are looking for something new. The Brown Bear sounds good. We'll probably try it this weekend.

best BBQ driving from Memphis Airport toward Arkansas border
I'm flying out of Memphis tomorrow and I always eat the same meal in the Memphis airport. In Concourse B there is an Interstate BBQ stand that serves one of the best BBQ bologna sandwiches that you'll ever have.
Whenever you order it they always ask if you have 10 minutes for them to prepare it. Therefore, you know that it's not sitting under a heat lamp. It's fresh and tasty. Click the link below for a photo of culinary bliss. It's truly a poor man's delicacy.

Memphis Bar-B-Que
Trust me...there are numerous other BBQ joints that I prefer over the Rendezvous (Central, Paynes, Gtown Commissary, BBQ Shop, Cozy Corner, Interstate, Neely's, etc.)
However, I am a native Memphian and love to have fun at the Rendezvous and enjoy the Michelob and the sausage & cheese plate. Heck, sometimes I go and don't even order BBQ.
Again, many folks will agree with you and many withh agree with me about the Rendezvous. However, I think everyone should try it at least once and form their own opinion.

Memphis Bar-B-Que
The Rendezvous has a very loyal local following. I would guess that more than 50% of their business is from local customers.
Memphis Bar-B-Que
Half the folks will agree with you and half the folks will think those are fighting words. I think everyone should visit the Rendezvous at least once and make their own decision.
I have had some TERRIBLE ribs at the Rendezvous and I have had some delicious ribs at the Rendezvous. I've NEVER had a bad sausage & cheese plate at the Rendezvous and I've never had a bad time there.
It's certainly not typical Memphis BBQ. However, it's a very special and unique place with a very loyal following. Most people either love it or hate it.
Best restaurants in Manistee or Pentwater?
I have eaten at every place in Ludington and am looking for somthing new.
30th birthday weekend in New Orleans- need advice for 2 nights of restaurants ESP raw oysters
I love standing at the oyster bar and having oysters as an "appetizer" while waiting on a table at Pascal's Manale.

Interstate BBQ is on the way.
Acre Restaurant in Memphis, TN.
I ate lunch there a couple of weeks ago and Wally Joe was walking around the dining room refilling diners' water glasses himself. I don't think I've ever seen a chef/owner do that in my life. I was impressed.
What kind od place is restuarant Iris
I ate there for the first time this weekend. The service was great and the food exceeded my expectations. I'll definitely be back soon.
One day only - this Friday in Memphis - Graceland and BBQ - Texas hounds looking for great cue
You have selected three really good places. In my opinin Central is all about the ribs, Paynes is all about the sandwich and the BBQ Shop is good in both categories.
BBQ Shop serves their sandwich on Texas toast, but you can request a regular bun.
Question for Memphis Chowhounds
The owner of Bardog just opened a new place in Midtown right down the street from Iris. It's called Aldo's Slider Inn.
BBQ Memphis -Driving thru on a Sunday
I guess all of this talk BBQ talk gave me a craving. I actually stopped by Interstate BBQ last Sunday and ordered a BBQ bologna sandwich. It was perfect.
NOLA on a budget
I assumet that it's probably not one of their "signature" dishes, but I had the best lamb chops in my life last year at Galatoire's. Compared to other fine dining places in NOLA, I find Galatoire's to be one of the more reasonably priced.
Bellying up to an oyster bar is always an enjoyable, delicious, and relatively inexpensive experience.
