Cold Noodles Chinatown

Listen very closely- the cold sesame noodles at Grand Sichuan in Ctown are as good as they can possibly get. TRRRRRRRRRRRUST ME- they're awesome.

Nice Green Bo - still don't get it

If you go to Joe's again, you should do yourself a huge favor and order the following dishes, in order of awesomeness: Lion's Head Meatballs (the best meatballs in any cuisine- period), Prawns in Meat Sauce (so much different, and better than it sounds), and Braised Pork Shoulder (so unique). The sauce is a bit rich in all of them, but trrrrrust me, you will not be disappointed in any of them. And of course, Joe's has the best soup dumplings, bar none.

best margarita to drink outside

Sure, there might be more fantastic outdoor venues, but as far as amazing bang for the delicious buck outdoor margs, you have our choice of Arte Pasta on Greenwich Ave (food is god awful though), Harry's Burritos right down the street, and Blockheads on 33rd and 2nd. ** Please note that none of these terrific margs cost more than $3.50 each.

Jamon Ibérico (Iberian Ham) in the city?

That Kobe- excellent information. I think I may have to suck it up and head over to Despana for the good stuff. Will let you know my thoughts..

Have a res at Crispo this weekend - What should I order?

I second the Marrow- holy cow is that a great dish. And the Carbonara is truly special as well.

5 Best Bets for BBQ Ribs

RUB is all about one thing- the "Burnst Ends". If you are able to get there when they open for lunch, and get the Burnt Ends when they are nice and hot and fresh, you will NOT be disappointed.

Jamon Ibérico (Iberian Ham) in the city?

Murray's Cheese on Bleecker has it for $59.99/lb. I've never had, so I have to ask- could it really be worth that much more than, say a $21/lb Prosciutto di Parma??

When is Yogurtland opening?

I think this place is great- and PLEASE do yourself a favor and try the Taro- it's for real. And yes, it's a much better bang for the buck than Pinkberry, but the truth is, it's not quite as uniquely delicious. That said, it's nice to have as a very reasonable option.

50 Best Dishes in New York

I have scanned the responses, and here is my feedback: I absolutely agree with MisNataie re: Katz's Pastrami and Black Cod from Nobu (but Joe's has absolutely lost a step if that pie is not FRESH out of the oven and not a reheat job).

I'm fully on board with Steakrules on the Blueberry Pancakes at Clinton St. Bakery (but I strongly disagree with the suggestion that RUB's pastrami is better than Katz's, let alone very good at all).

I agree with Corsica on Gramercy Tavern's Cheese plate- really impressive selection.

I'm with Pan on votes for Patsy's in E Harlem and Banh Mi at Saigon Bakery.

100% agree with Namreb that Joe's Shanghai Soup Dumplings must be on the list.

I love Dkstar1's inclusion of the Beef Ribs at Hill Country BBQ- they're awesome.

CDB is right on point with the Beef Cheek Ravioli at Babbo.

And lastly, my own favorite recommendation for place still unknown to most people, but has two of the greatest dishes in NYC. The place is Sanur Indonesion/Malaysian Restaurant at 18 Doyers (downstairs). The two INSANE dishes are the Crab Curry Soup with Transparent Noodles, and the greatest Chicken Satay you will ever have. If they are out of Crab, then get any curry soup and ask for transparent noodles. Simply un..believable.

On the Pamplona tip, I'd also like to mention the amazing take-out-only lunch specials for under $6. The Grilled Chicken or Steak with Avocado Hero is truly delicious.

Where the best place for dumplings in Chinatown?

I have had soup dumplings from them all, and nothing touches Joe's Shanghai- simple as that. New Green Bo makes excellent fried pork dumplings.

Free food at Happy Hour?

If I'm not mistaken, domestic beers at Crocodile Lounge are actually $3 each during happy hour, so yes- it is one of the overall greatest deals in Manhattan.

Eleven Madison Park goes off the rails

I had a very nice experience at EMP for lunch. The food was excellent, of course, and the service was thoughtful and more than competent. Of course there are going to be isolated incidences of subpar experiences in every restaurant. Looks like the hammer just happened to come down on you at the wrooooong time. Sorry bout that.

Nope- nothing like lobster sauce at all. Much more of a tangy orange sauce. I've attached three pics, one of them being the shrimp.

Mei Lai Wah closed by DOH?!?

Yes, the door now has a new sign which says they are only closed temporarily for renovations. They could easily attempting to clean up the place due to the DOH. Whatever the case, I really hope those doors open up again.

Free food at Happy Hour?

Yes, and not only does Croxley serve free wings, but three bins of them- mild, medium, and hot. 5-7 Fridays, along with a $4 Beer of the Day.

Free food at Happy Hour?

El Cantinero's happy hour buffet is actually quite impressive, relatively speaking. A few hot dishes offered along with $4 Margs, beers, etc. Rudy's is a dive bar institution with insanely low drink prices, and yes- free hot dogs. However, I'd rather pay double the asking price at Gray's Papaya than eat another of those god awful dawgs at Rudy's. Fun place though.

Going to Babbo solo- What do I order??

I'm pleased to say I just returned to Babbo to get my fill of the Pig's Foot Milanese, Duck's Tongue, and Gnocchi. The Pig's Foot stole the show, and was presented quite a bit differently than I was expecting. Just fantastic.
