SN Celebration
Picked some up several days ago Fresh Hop IPA......very enjoyable.......I thought they played around, and changed up the offering year by year.......in the past I have not seen "Fresh Hop " monicker.....or at least not recently, and it tastes distinctively different than last years offering.
Am I mistaken.
Thanks for takes and info.

Peter Luger steak- Medium? Well?
Well.....Med Well.....same abomination with a great steak
Johnson's in Siler City , and Wilson's in Cleveland
is the burger worth the trip...........nice flavor , unique among local burgers....
Hop production
Thanks.....upon further investigation I learned the same...........Although would be nice for us east coaster's to be able to establish / boast about our own "cascade" hops.........and an indigenous IPA phenomenon like the west coast.....
Johnson's in Siler City , and Wilson's in Cleveland
Worth the trip from Raleigh area for the burgers and fried chicken......?
Hop production
Washington,Oregon, Idaho..........major production areas in the US.
Recently read that State of NC looking into planting/ cultivating in the western part of the state (after experiencing the hop shortage).
How long might it take to become a viable production area and what might be the expectation for the hop characteristics grown in this area.....or would the growing environment impact greatly the flavor profile of the hop......?
Subway- First time in a long time; now I remember why....
Jimmy Johns is far and away a better sandwich
Your father's beer.
Piels genuine draft in the stubby bottles....Reingold...when brewed in the city ....Shaeffer........in the basement in Bayonne with grandpa's pint of something stashed in the rafters..........
Canned Micro's
Couldn't think of the one i tried......it was Fat Tire in a 22oz bottle.......there was a very heavy push on this many months ago when i tried........packaging caught my eye and I figured to give a try........once again could not finish .....maybe a bad bottle , but very leery of attempting again.
Canned Micro's
Hope this isn't too tired a topic..........Summer is here in full force (NC)...........recently was able to try Ska Brewings Modus Hoperandi..............loved it........along with Dales Pale Ale and Oskar Blues ..."Little Yella Pils" ... am in search of other great canned Micro's.
Not a huge fan of the Old Chub Scottish, and have not gotten around to dropping serious coin on a 4 pack of the the Gubna (100 IBU's).
Other than the above mentioned have not really seen other Micro cans in NC.........prefer IPA's (SN Torpedo, Bells 2 Hearted, Stone IPA...etc).
Any takes, and/or suggestions would be appreciated..........understand the daunting task of assembling a canning line, but for some reason have a fantasy of seeing SN Pale Ale or Torpedo in a beautiful green can on a hot summer day.
So Hounds, How many Beers?
When i'm drinking more than 6 I can "avgerage" up to 12...........typically Torpedo's these days ..........when i head past 12 things can get dicey/ murky............mass consumption these days must be done with a quality beer like any SN............in the past, mass consumption of a non micro has led to head splitting hangovers.......in my youth.
Also i have found that some days the brews just don't go down like ....i'm into it......other days they seem to really flow.........as I've mentioned in other threads.....good quality micro's , particularly SN's (in my opinion) do not leave me hurting the morning after.......
Best Sandwich in the Triangle?
Tried the Torta Cubano last Sat. night.......place was packed and the place had a nice/ authentic feel.
I had the sandwich to go, which was probably a mistake........it was very disapointing.....cutlet was overcooked in overused oil......I don't know how much better it would have been had I eaten in.....$9.19 with tax for the guige, fries, chips and a 2oz salsa.......I was so looking forward to this sandwich am debating a second try....
PS this in no way was a "monstrous" sandwich...
Yes We Can
Wonder why else they would place yeast in the can, other than for further fermintation....krausening (is it)?
Was just drinking a Bell's two hearted and was thinking it would be amazing to taste something like it out of a can on a hot summer day.
Yes We Can
Forgot about the bottle conditioning......and if similar results could be achieved in a can.....
Yes We Can
As of yet have not seen the Urquel.....have tried the Mama's and had mixed feelings....and have heard great things about Sly Fox, but as of today can't get in NC......I enjoyed the Dales Pale Ale......the first beer in forever that so very much suprised me straight from a can...... I personally think that if Sierra Nevada.......Stone......et al......put any of their beers in cans they would create a Tsunami of micro appreciation........
