Please help - looking for starry cookies and chocolates
I meant WF had the foil-wrapped items and Godiva had the normal Chocolate star truffles.
Last time I was in Firehook they also had star cookies. They didn't look that good, though.
DC - One Night Only - What's THE Restaurant?
While Palena is very good, I don't know if I would call it a "right now" type restaurant.
You might like Bourbon Steak if you can get in. Or Ris just opened up (the former chef 1789)
Heritage India - given up
SO noisy and rarely do I make comments on that. I have also been to Oyamel a couple of times when I have found it to be very loud).
Palena, Corduroy or ???
I would pick Proof. I love their seafood and wine choices there and live the atmosphere.

I may have seen star shaped foil covered chocolate at Whole Foods. I believe Godiva has a couple star shaped truffles.
Favorite Roasted Brussels Sprout Recipe
I have tons of brussels sprouts. I have a couple stand-by ones I use, but wanted to get some new ideas for seasoning and such. The one key is it must not have bacon (or any meat) and it must be healthy!
Who has the best convenience store coffee/hot chocolate/food selection?
I was the original Wawa poster. Why some much censorship on CH--and they got it wrong!
Wawa's great coffee got me through grad school.
Best Restaurantants for Foodists in Dupont / Logan Circle / Thomas Circle
14th in Logan is becoming quite the hot spot and more to come! Most of the places have a different ambience than Penn Quarter, but food-wise, I find a lot of the places just as good.
Google map of all the Ethnic groceries / markets in the D.C. area
I love the little Japanese restaurant on U St. The couple that own it are so sweet.
Grass-Fed Burgers in DC?
I bet at so of the really nice restaurants there's a grass-fed option...maybe as a special. You can always go up to Blue Hill in NYC. :)
Jury Duty--Where to get a sandwich??
SimonF didn't say veg options exclusively. Might as well go for the grand if you're in the area.
Poor Cleveland Park
Yep, used to walk by there everyday when I lived in Philly. It's right on Penn's campus. The perfect location for this type of place. The perfect place for students to spend $5 dollars of their parents money on a bowl of cereal.
Poor Cleveland Park
I think people forget that business owners actually do RESEARCH before they open a business in a specific location and to get a loan.
While I wish they would open another type of place in that space, don't make assumptions about their failure. I bet 10 years ago when cupcake shops started popping up (or rice pudding shops), people thought it was crazy to only sell cupcakes in one store.
Jury Duty--Where to get a sandwich??
Look through thread for ideas. There is a sandwich shop near by that's ok (I forget the name) but have the most amazing turkey, cheese and bacon sandwich. Get it!

I meant recommendations at Pesce. I have been to Nora's quite a few times. The two times I haven't been so impressed. I think it's not as good as it used to be. At one time Nora's was the only organic restaurant around (and the first in DC), but now a lot of place have local and/organic ingredients and is a lot more reasonable.
wanted pumpkin pie in a cassarole without crust
You can use any pumpkin pie recipe and bake it in a dish without the crust. I do it all the time.
Panera for lunch -- NEVER AGAIN!
I think it depends on who prepares it. I've had that sandwich before and it was a very nice amount. I actually couldn't finish it. At another location it was also a nice size, too.
Poor Cleveland Park
They have things like this similar on some college campuses. However, I think CP is the wrong location/clientele for this. A make your own salad/sandwich/soup bar and (plus maybe smoothies/fro yo) would be a lot better option for this space. Think about all the young professionals and busy families up there who are health conscious and always on the go.
Applebee's or Chili's?
Well, yes, that is obvious, but also most of these restaurants have salads that the masses would like and load on the bacon, cheese and croutons (fun toppings). People often miscalculate the calories and assume it's low-fat/healthy just because it's over greens. However, another misconception is that vinegrettes are less fattening than other dressings. They usually have more cals if not more.
Applebee's or Chili's?
salads at restaurants--especially chains like these--always seem like the healthier option but always are surprisingly sooo fattening.

I was planning to go there this weekend. What are some recommendations if we like light and healthy seafood?
Local food gifts for DC clients
Depends if you can get it delivered or not.
I don't really think cupcakes are that special, but if you want to go down the sweet route, how about http://www.cakesforcause.org/contact.html. Or Cava Meze has a mail order business. Some their spreads could be a nice gift.
Breakfast near Dupont Circle
You're paying more for atmosphere at Kramer's than anything else. The food is very so-so, and the service is pretty bad everytime I have been there. Please note on weekends the wait at Kramer's for brunch/lunch is looong. Also, they have prix fixe for their brunch (comes with muffins and coffee/juice).
DC Area - Lunch for one. Ideas?
I never really got the thrill over Hank's. I have been there quite a few times, and always walk out of there disappointing. I also think it's over-priced. I'd rather go to Tacklebox for nicer on the wallet and just as good if not better.
Any less-rowdy places for birthday drinks in Adams Morgan?
Reef is a frat parties on the weekends.
