best oyster bar in toronto?

i'm a big fan of smokeless joe's...they are closed yes, but are instead moving to college street. It will be interesting to see how the new place will compare when ready (I think in several months). I will really miss the character and charm of this tiny spot.

Best restaurant in Mississauga

Hi Superangela,
I know this is really late and hope you see this, but I'm curious as to what your 'go-to' places are for your pho, sushi, korean and chinese in sauga? I used to live in the port credit area and still visit from time to time and would definitely make the trek out to good spots in Sauga. In the past I always enjoyed Pho Dau Bo and Miga for Korean. I never did find a good Chinese place. There was also this amazing food court in an older mall plaza near the corner of dundas and hurontario, that although fine dining it was not, had really good mom and pops style places for north indian cuisine, jamaican and korean. It made great takeout for a quick meal, but again, awhiles ago so cannot speak for it now.

Thank you Toronto Jo and Full Tummy for those recs, I'll look into them. Might be oliver & bonacini that we'll go with. Again, thanks for your time.

Looking for an AYCE korean bbq thats not Korean grill house or Grill Time

Second the rec for Miga. This I believe is their second location (original in sauga which I've also been to). Korean-owned, their food is excellent and decor pleasing. The AYCE specials are good as they usually combine with soju if you wanted.

there are great ones in yonge/steeles area but keeping to downtown, hmm...I cant recall the name now or if it's even there still, but on Christie, pretty much right by the ttc subway station is a restaurant (used to be spring garden I think) that had excellent bbq, although it has been awhile since I've been. It is right beside a hair salon with the baskin robbins at the corner.

Brunch or good recs near don mills/york mills area

Hi everyone,
was wondering if anyone could provide good recs for restaurant or brunch near graydon hall manor. I don't know the area very well and the searches I've done on this board showed suggestions from 2004 including miller tavern and david duncans. I've read the reviews for two mentioned(mostly bad). Are there any places that would accomodate a medium sized group looking for delicious food with nice atmosphere...also parking friendly?

Thanks for your time folks
Cheers

Road trip from Buffalo to Pittsburg

Hi there, we're roadtripping all the way from Toronto, Ontario down to Pittsburg. According to the map, major routes are from I-90 south to I-79 I believe. I've done some searches both on here and google but haven't had much luck in finding good recs for great stops along the way.

As a canuck, we're looking for one of our stops to be true american diner experience or really, just a diner that serves some great grub! Any other recs along the way (towns to visit, restaurants) we're totally game for as well.

Any help would be appreciated!
Cheers

ISO specific Bajan Hot Pepper Sauce

I am hoping someone will help me in the search of one of the most delicious hot sauces I've ever had. My friends brought back a bottle of Bajan Hot Pepper Sauce from Barbados, not sure if it was homemade bought in the markets or at a local grocery store as there is no company listed on the label, just the name 'Bajan Hot Pepper Sauce' and a listing of ingredients. It is a delicious full-bodied sauce consisting of hot peppers, onion, mustard, vinegar and salt and it seemed to compliment everything I put it on. Alas, my bottle is all but empty. Is there something comparable to this out there or the same anywhere that delivers that bang on perfect combination of these ingredients? Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

anyone try PC Lamb Spiedini Mini-Skewers ?

Indeed, they aren't too bad, I like them better than the Marc Angelo ones. They taste great when sprinkled with sea salt as soon as they come off the grill. I have also tried them fresh when Longo's sold them in the summer time, altho, it could have been previously frozen. Regardless, they seemed to be more tender and juicy.

Best healthy dish

Hi Rachel,
not sure if these two have been mentioned:

1. Camros located at Yonge/Hayden just south of Bloor. Their dishes are based on Persian cuisine and they pride themselves on healthy, organic, nutritious and delicious meals. I haven't eaten there in a while, but I fondly remember their rice balls, kale salad and vegetarian stews and thoroughly enjoying it!

2. Tintos located on roncesvalles about two blocks north of queen west. I eat here often, getting any of their salads or wraps and sandwiches. All the food here is also organic and chicken and tofu is available as protein. The food is fresh and light and healthy. www. tinto.ca

Unfortunately both places are a bit on the pricier side. You can check their web sites for menus and prices. If there are any other places, it'd be great to know as I'm also, tragically on a 'diet'.

Cheers

Engagement Celebration Dinner (Sauga, Oakville, Burlington Area Recs)

Hi everyone, I'm fairly new to this and looking for your help on some recommendations for a restaurant in the west-end GTA-Sauga/Oakville/Burlington area (I live dtown Toronto so not too familiar with the area yet). Ideally we'd love a private room that can accomodate 30-50 ppl comfortably for a sit-down meal, cuisine isn't really an issue, as long as its good quality and tasty! We have ppl driving from all over so easy parking would be great and also, a place that can do a fri or sat evening. Any recommendations would be very helpful! Thanks.
