Mirella's Biscotti
You must mean last Sunday, that's when the Marin farmer's market is open; that and Thursday. She has great baked goods, she's from Bologna, Italy, home of the best food in the world! Be nice to her, and she'll pull out some treats from behind the stand for you!
Greek Festival?
Hello,
The Macedonia park bbq on Greek Easter day is fabulous! It's just south of Calistoga, on the Silverado trail, don't know the exact address. Lots of lambs going around on spits, dancing and drinking, etc.
San Rafael Chinese - Hunan & Mandarin
Lumi,
What a surprise, good eats in Marin!!! Didn't know us North Bay foodies were so deprived! I thought all there was available were hot pockets in pepto-bismal reduction!

Mezzo Mezzo in San Rafael?
Hello!
I have been in the restaurant and talked to the owners and chef. Nice decor, and Sicilian entrees. Love the Sicilian dialect on the menu! Slightly unusual and different from the usual cal-ital! They just added lunch, so when I get a chance I will chow down and report!

More on Mambo's, San Rafael
Hello!
Imagine a restaurant owner complaing of long hours!? What did they think it was, 9-5? I work in San Rafael, and walk by the restaurants every night on my way home. Thursday and friday nights Mambo's had a two top, and Sol food was packed.

Hello all!
Where in the bay area, north bay, to get different bread and baking flours? I want to try some that aren't readily available in supermarkets.
Thanks!

cutting edge food in Greece.
Hello all chowhounders!
My Greek wife and I went to Greece last year and had a good time, but every restaurant seemed to have the same things.Of course the kabobs, souvlaki, and gyros, doner kabobs, were great street food, but it's usually the same Greek salad, moussaka, stuffed pepers, etc., at most restaurants we ate at. Even our Greek relatives that took us out to their favorite restaurants,it was basically the same menu choices, seved luke warm in a pool of olive oil.
We will go back in the future, to see here relatives, and I would appreciate it if some one could recommend a restaurant that takes the classics and reinvents them, or pushes the edge at least some what. In the Athens area; Monistraki, Glyfada, or any other part of of the city. I apologize for my poor Greek spelling, I'm still trying to learn all my wife's relatives names!
Thank You!

Bologna for a non-red meat eater
Bologna is a fabulous city! Whatever you do or don't eat! Great food markets, restaurants, and a lively night life! And no tourists! The best food in Italy, every Itaian says!
Email me and I can send an on line album of Bologna.

Prosciutto and/or Parm cheese factory tours
Goat,
My wife and I just got back from Parma, great city, fabulous food, wonderfull people!Bologna just as great, but bigger! More to eat!
The farms to visit are on the outskirts of these cities. More specifically, out skirts of Parma. There are prosciutto museums, and pig farms to visit. Several museums of each!
But, if you want to go to the food direct, head to down town Parma, to Via Garibaldi (what else!), there are two fantastico delicatessans! One is Garibaldi, near the train station and the main piazza. A couple of blocks further towards town you'll find my favorite; Verde something or other.
Please, unlike me , buy more cheese and balsamic vinegars! They are so cheap there, and an amazing , dazzling selection of each! Of every thing!
I can e-mail photos of the food shops if you want, just ask!
Ciao!
Robert
