Need a simple appetizer recipe

If you want to try to caterer route, go to amusebouchesf.com I know they do passed hors deuvres (sp?) at a resonable price-my friend was on a very tight budget for her wedding and she used them-the food was excellent...

uncured fatback source?

Yeah, Akron carries uncured.

uncured fatback source?

Akron carries it...they are on 20th between Folsom and Shotwell

Any recent feedback on La Folie?

I'm sorry, I can't much remember the specifics, but I was there recently and really wasn't impressed. I vaguely even remember what I had. The thing to know going there, I think, is that the portions are HUGE for a french restaraunt-so get the smallest tasting menu-everything we got was the size of an entree in a non-french restaraunt, from the apps & soup to the main dishes to dessert.

happy hour in the MIssion

Who has a great happy hour in the Mission? By great I mean drink and food specials...

dinner tonight in RWC...please help

We are meeting in RWC tonight for dinner-I am going to have a car so I don't have to stay near work-I am right behind sequoia station near the fox theater. Not really in the mood for Indian, Chinese or Mexican...kind of feeling Italian-somewhere with really great pasta and some nice wine. Any suggestions?

chaat cafe

I am pretty sure they are the same people as the Chaat cafe on third and folsom...I used to eat there all the time and I feel like the owner told me that-anyway, if you want it in SF, I believe it's there-

How do you pronounce "sherbet?" [tangent from General Topics]

dictionary.com says both ways are acceptable

World's Worst Products - Canned whole chicken

oh my god that is shocking...i think i have to get my hands on one so i can have a live viewing.

Burlingame recommendations

the Roman pizza at steelhead is also really yummy-goat cheese, pepperoni, onion and kalamata's-the crust is nice and thin. They have a good cobb salad too-it's just what you expect when you order cobb, so you don't end up disappointed with some twist they've put on it-Zeyano (I think that's the name)is a Mediterranean place on Lorton that's has good food and benign offers.

where to buy honeycomb?

anyone know? preferably near the Mission?

Where to buy boquerones?

thanks, that's perfect! (Luca) I couldn't remember if they had them or not-I live in the Mission so that's the best bet...

Where to buy boquerones?

I mean, what store sells them so that I may use them in my own cooking?

Later evening (10-10:30pm) Dinner Recs

I know it's kind of far, but since you are considering Delfina...I know Maverick seats until 11PM.

Where to buy boquerones?

Does anyone know where I can buy boquerones?

Updated: List of good little neighborhood spots in SF

They have a fabulous pork rillette that normally comes on the charcuterie plate but you can order it on it's own. It's very meaty...one of the best rillette's I've ever had. I also adore the duck confit, but beware, it is quite rich...I always split it with someone. Every time I go there I sit at the bar, and the bartender Brian (not the French one) is so nice, remebers our names and what we like to drink-I consistently see people come in just to have mussels-I haven't had them but should soon. In addition I am a big fan of their fish soup and bouilliabase (sp?)

I love Garcon...

Bernal Heights, SF

I would try Emmy's Spaghetti Shack and see what you think. They have a new (for about the last year or so) chef there who is very creative-she uses unexpected ingredients and combinations in her apps and always does a great job. Just a heads up, the atmosphere is a bit hipsterish. There is also a new wine bar on Cortland that is a nice place to go to get meat and cheese plates-they have pasta but I haven't tried it.

Sushi in Redwood City?

thank you! what a great list...I will be at Higuma tomorrow!

Sushi in Redwood City?

I started working in RWC about three months ago, and all of my sushi attempts have ended in tears and bitter, bitter disappointment. The fish is mealy, and they all seem to offer only california rolls, tuna and yellowtail or maybe eel.I need to be able to walk to it-I work on Broadway next to the fox theater (right behind sequoia station.I am in a desperate way...any help?
