Lunch & Dinner between Penn Station and Music Box Theatre

Would there be anything for dinner besides Tonys that would be good but might avoid the big crowds?

Ricotta Stuffed Meatballs

One of the local restaurants here makes ricotta stuffed meatballs, which are delicious. They are very big meatballs with a small ball of ricotta in the middle. We've tried to replicate them at home. We've used this recipe (http://theprettychef.blogspot.com/201...) but the ricotta gets much wetter than the restaurant ones and kind of oozes out. Does any have any tips on how to get it so the ricotta is a little dryer/baked in like the restaurant ones? Thanks in advance.

Good Chinese food near Ambler

I can vouch for Wing Lee in Horsham (15 minutes from Ambler). I also like Ming's in Hatboro. I know those are a little outside of Ambler and Flourtown but they are a couple of my favorites in the area.

Lunch & Dinner between Penn Station and Music Box Theatre

Hi,

I am going to a Broadway Saturday 2:30pm show in January and am looking for lunch and dinner recommendations. I am looking for restaurants for lunch and a place for dinner between Penn Station and Music Box Theatre (Won't have a car). I have done a lot of google research and the two ideas I came up with are Dafni Greek Taverna and Tony's Di Napoli. As far as price and types of food we like, we really like any type of food except Sushi. In terms of price, I'd like lunch to be around $15 pp or less and dinner around $20-$24 pp. Also, restaurants need to be wheelchair accessible. Thanks in advance.

DC for Two Nights - 2 Dinners and a Lunch/Brunch - Need Help

As far as cost at Rasika West End, I have read that it is small plates. Is that correct? I'm trying to get a sense of how much it will cost for three for dinner (No Alcohol). If it is small plates/tapas, in looking at their menu, it could get pretty pricey. Thanks for the responses thus far.

DC for Two Nights - 2 Dinners and a Lunch/Brunch - Need Help

Hello folks,

I will be going to DC for two nights on a weekend coming up in a couple weeks (Not restaurant week). I have done a bunch of research but honestly am a little overwhelmed. I will be in town for a Friday Dinner, Saturday Lunch or Brand, and Saturday Dinner. Since we will be sightseeing and walking around all day, we'd like to be able to wear khaki shorts and a polo shirt to dinner. As far as cuisine, we are pretty open, just looking for a unique experience and looking to stay in the $25-$30 range per person. The hotel isn't very close so going back and forth just to change for dinner isn't going to be a viable option.

For Friday dinner, we are open to go anywhere that is wheelchair and metro accessible. We don't have any sightseeing planned for Friday night so we are quite open.

For Saturday Lunch or Brunch, we have a tour at the Capitol Building which will be done around 11:30am or so and then will be taking the Metro to the Basilica Shrine of the Immaculate Conception. So, we are looking for wheelchair accessible lunch or brunch either within walking distance of the Capitol or the Basilica. I've looked at Bistro Cacao, Monocle, Tortilla Coast, Dubliner, and Johnny's on the Half Shell but yelp lists Bistro Cacao and Monocle as not wheelchair accessible Any tips for something great for lunch or brunch would be great.

For Saturday dinner, we will be by the Memorials and Smithsonian so looking for a place close to there. We recently had a good tapas experience here locally so I was considering Jaleo which looks like it wouldn't be too far. I also heard good things about Rasika but it looks like it would be out of budget and probably wouldn't work in terms of dress code. I had also considered Founding Farmers. So, any other ideas you all can provide would be great.

Dinner in Canton, Ohio area

Hello,

I am looking for a dinner recommendation for the Canton, Ohio area next week. I tried searching the boards and couldn't find anything on the Canton Area. The hotel is in North Canton and I will have a car so I can drive 15-20 minutes if it is worth the trip. As far as types of cuisine, the only thing we really aren't crazy about is very spicy food. Thanks in advance for any help.

That location that is being described is Saffron. It's pretty good, Naan is a bit bland but the other dishes we have had from there have been good.

Decent Chinese in Northeast?

I was on a similar quest for some time. In the northeast, my personal favorite is Taste King on Bustleton Avenue. However, my favorite in the area is Ming's in Hatboro.

Dinner Recommendation requested DE/MD

Hello folks,

I am in need of a dinner recommendation somewhere between Newark, DE and Aberdeen, MD for next weekend. It doesn't have to be real high end or anything. I would be looking for a place with entrees between $18 - $25. In terms of types of cuisine, we are open to anything except for Chinese, Thai, or Sushi. Italian, American, Seafood, Mexican, Steak, etc would all be fine. Thanks in advance for any help. The posters here are always extremely helpful.

Thank You

Seeking Morristown Recommendations for dinner

Hello folks,

I will be staying in downtown Morristown coming up and was looking for some dinner recommendations. It looks like the restaurants in and near my hotel are a bit on the expensive side. I was hoping for some recommendations, even outside of the downtown area where I may be able to pickup a quality, but casual and inexpensive dinner (Under $15). In terms of what I like, the only thing I don't eat is sushi and Indian so all other types of cuisine are good. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Need LI Recommendations for Medford/Patchogue/Hauppage

I just wanted to follow up and give a report on my trip. Thanks to all of those with provided recommendations:

Bobbique in Patchogue - Pulled Pork sandwich with potato salad was terrific. This was one of the better meals on the trip.

Pita House in Medford - Went with the Shish Kabob sandwich which is steak, lettuce, onions, tomatoes and yogurt sauce in the side. It was a pretty good sandwich.

La Margherita in Medford - I had a small pizza from there one night and it was outstanding. I went there another week and had a pasta dish which wasn't very good. The staff here is super nice and very helpful.

How May Kitchen in East Patchogue - The wonton soup was terrific. The chicken dish I had wasn't very good. Something about the chicken didn't taste quite right. Meal also seemed a little oily.

Medford Pastaria in Medford - Meal was very good, but prices are a little high for what you get.

Jim's Deli in Brookhaven - Breakfast sandwich was terrific. Hero was pretty good, but breakfast sandwich was outstanding.

Need LI Recommendations for Medford/Patchogue/Hauppage

Hi,

I am going to be spending in some time in the Medford/Patchogue/Hauppage area over the next few weeks and am looking for some places to have a casual dinner by myself, places where it would be comfortable to have a solo dinner. Also, I am looking for places with reasonable prices ($15 entree would be the max). I would like to keep my drive time under 20 minutes each way. I have done a bunch of research on this board and here is what I have come up with so far.

Gyro Times in Northport
Pita House in East Satawket
Gyro Palace in Rocky Point
Del Fiore in Patchogue
Bobbique in Patchogue
La Margherita in Medford

I am hoping someone can recommend a good Chinese restaurant where I can get (very good and non-greasey) chicken fried rice. I would also be interested in recommendations for a good deli or two and also a recommendation for a good breakfast. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide in adding to my list.

Chicken Fried Rice recommendations sought

Hi,

About four or five years ago, I stopped eating Chinese food because I could never find any that was not greasey and wouldn't up my stomach.

Lately, I have had a hankering for chicken fried rice and am hoping to find a very good place that makes it with all white meat chicken and not really greasey/oily. I am looking for a place in Lower Montgomery County (Abington/Willow Grove/Hatboro/Horsham areas) or in northeast Philadelphia.

Thanks in advance

Harrisburg Area recommendations needed

Hi,

On Saturday, I will be traveling from the Norristown area up to Penn State. I am looking for two places to eat in the Harrisburg area. First, we would like to find a place where we could have a big lunch, some type of sit-down restuarant, but not too expensive (Entrees $15 or less). We like most types of food with the exception of Chinese and Sushi. Second, we would like to find some type of good deli to get hoagies to have later that night for our trip home.

Note that we will be traveling up the turnpike to 283 North to 83 North to 322. Really, anything that it is not too far off that route would be fine.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Need a dinner recommendation for Reading, PA

I just wanted to report back to everyone.

We were going to go to Judy's on Cherry or Speckled Hen but they did not start serving until 5pm and we needed to be somewhere by 6pm. So, we ended up going to the Peanut Bar. Both of our meals were really excellent and the service was very efficient. We ended up having the crab cakes and the chicken cordon bleu medallions and both were delicious. Thanks again for the recommendation.

Need a dinner recommendation for Reading, PA

I am going to be heading up to Reading next Saturday. I will be going up the PA Turnpike (from the Norristown area) to Reading and am looking for a good place for an early dinner at around 4:30pm. We are looking for something with entrees in the $15-$18 range or less and are looking for something right in Reading. As far as cuisine, the only thing we don't really like is chinese food and sushi. Thanks in advance for any help.

Cheesesteak near I-95 south of Philly

I live in Montgomery County now, but have family in Allentown. So, I'm very familiar with Yoccos (best hot dogs in the world, as far as I'm concerned) and Brass Rail.

Cheesesteak near I-95 south of Philly

Tony Luke's is a good suggestion for a cheesesteak or a roast pork sandwich.

Another place I would recommend is John's Roast Pork. They are located on Snyder Ave, only a short drive from the Columbus Boulevard Exit of I-95. They were voted #1 in cheesesteaks this year by 610 WIP Sports Radio. The only word of caution with John's is to check their hours before you go. They open early and close early and are not typically open after 3 or 4pm.

Best place to buy fresh fish in Philly?

This is a good question as I have been wondering the same thing. We had gotten fish at the Reading Terminal Market, but lately it is has not been as good or as fresh. Is there anywhere in the center city area (we don't get down to the South Philly Area) besides RTM that has good fresh fish?

Need good Long Island lunch recommendation

Just to update this - I ended up having to change my route and went to Ferring Deli in Baldwin. It was good, but a little on the expensive side.
