That location that is being described is Saffron. It's pretty good, Naan is a bit bland but the other dishes we have had from there have been good.
Decent Chinese in Northeast?
I was on a similar quest for some time. In the northeast, my personal favorite is Taste King on Bustleton Avenue. However, my favorite in the area is Ming's in Hatboro.
Dinner Recommendation requested DE/MD
Hello folks,
I am in need of a dinner recommendation somewhere between Newark, DE and Aberdeen, MD for next weekend. It doesn't have to be real high end or anything. I would be looking for a place with entrees between $18 - $25. In terms of types of cuisine, we are open to anything except for Chinese, Thai, or Sushi. Italian, American, Seafood, Mexican, Steak, etc would all be fine. Thanks in advance for any help. The posters here are always extremely helpful.
Thank You
Seeking Morristown Recommendations for dinner
Thanks for all the help so far, folks. Yes, I will have a car so I can travel outside of downtown as well.
Seeking Morristown Recommendations for dinner
Hello folks,
I will be staying in downtown Morristown coming up and was looking for some dinner recommendations. It looks like the restaurants in and near my hotel are a bit on the expensive side. I was hoping for some recommendations, even outside of the downtown area where I may be able to pickup a quality, but casual and inexpensive dinner (Under $15). In terms of what I like, the only thing I don't eat is sushi and Indian so all other types of cuisine are good. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
Need LI Recommendations for Medford/Patchogue/Hauppage
I just wanted to follow up and give a report on my trip. Thanks to all of those with provided recommendations:
Bobbique in Patchogue - Pulled Pork sandwich with potato salad was terrific. This was one of the better meals on the trip.
Pita House in Medford - Went with the Shish Kabob sandwich which is steak, lettuce, onions, tomatoes and yogurt sauce in the side. It was a pretty good sandwich.
La Margherita in Medford - I had a small pizza from there one night and it was outstanding. I went there another week and had a pasta dish which wasn't very good. The staff here is super nice and very helpful.
How May Kitchen in East Patchogue - The wonton soup was terrific. The chicken dish I had wasn't very good. Something about the chicken didn't taste quite right. Meal also seemed a little oily.
Medford Pastaria in Medford - Meal was very good, but prices are a little high for what you get.
Jim's Deli in Brookhaven - Breakfast sandwich was terrific. Hero was pretty good, but breakfast sandwich was outstanding.

Need LI Recommendations for Medford/Patchogue/Hauppage
Hi,
I am going to be spending in some time in the Medford/Patchogue/Hauppage area over the next few weeks and am looking for some places to have a casual dinner by myself, places where it would be comfortable to have a solo dinner. Also, I am looking for places with reasonable prices ($15 entree would be the max). I would like to keep my drive time under 20 minutes each way. I have done a bunch of research on this board and here is what I have come up with so far.
Gyro Times in Northport
Pita House in East Satawket
Gyro Palace in Rocky Point
Del Fiore in Patchogue
Bobbique in Patchogue
La Margherita in Medford
I am hoping someone can recommend a good Chinese restaurant where I can get (very good and non-greasey) chicken fried rice. I would also be interested in recommendations for a good deli or two and also a recommendation for a good breakfast. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide in adding to my list.

Chicken Fried Rice recommendations sought
Hi,
About four or five years ago, I stopped eating Chinese food because I could never find any that was not greasey and wouldn't up my stomach.
Lately, I have had a hankering for chicken fried rice and am hoping to find a very good place that makes it with all white meat chicken and not really greasey/oily. I am looking for a place in Lower Montgomery County (Abington/Willow Grove/Hatboro/Horsham areas) or in northeast Philadelphia.
Thanks in advance
Harrisburg Area recommendations needed
I figured I would bump this post to see if anyone has some recommendations for me.
Thanks
Harrisburg Area recommendations needed
Hi,
On Saturday, I will be traveling from the Norristown area up to Penn State. I am looking for two places to eat in the Harrisburg area. First, we would like to find a place where we could have a big lunch, some type of sit-down restuarant, but not too expensive (Entrees $15 or less). We like most types of food with the exception of Chinese and Sushi. Second, we would like to find some type of good deli to get hoagies to have later that night for our trip home.
Note that we will be traveling up the turnpike to 283 North to 83 North to 322. Really, anything that it is not too far off that route would be fine.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Need a dinner recommendation for Reading, PA
I just wanted to report back to everyone.
We were going to go to Judy's on Cherry or Speckled Hen but they did not start serving until 5pm and we needed to be somewhere by 6pm. So, we ended up going to the Peanut Bar. Both of our meals were really excellent and the service was very efficient. We ended up having the crab cakes and the chicken cordon bleu medallions and both were delicious. Thanks again for the recommendation.

Thanks to all for the recommendations. I will be sure to report back on Sunday and let you know how it worked out. Thanks again!
Need a dinner recommendation for Reading, PA
I am going to be heading up to Reading next Saturday. I will be going up the PA Turnpike (from the Norristown area) to Reading and am looking for a good place for an early dinner at around 4:30pm. We are looking for something with entrees in the $15-$18 range or less and are looking for something right in Reading. As far as cuisine, the only thing we don't really like is chinese food and sushi. Thanks in advance for any help.
Cheesesteak near I-95 south of Philly
I live in Montgomery County now, but have family in Allentown. So, I'm very familiar with Yoccos (best hot dogs in the world, as far as I'm concerned) and Brass Rail.
Cheesesteak near I-95 south of Philly
Tony Luke's is a good suggestion for a cheesesteak or a roast pork sandwich.
Another place I would recommend is John's Roast Pork. They are located on Snyder Ave, only a short drive from the Columbus Boulevard Exit of I-95. They were voted #1 in cheesesteaks this year by 610 WIP Sports Radio. The only word of caution with John's is to check their hours before you go. They open early and close early and are not typically open after 3 or 4pm.
Best place to buy fresh fish in Philly?
This is a good question as I have been wondering the same thing. We had gotten fish at the Reading Terminal Market, but lately it is has not been as good or as fresh. Is there anywhere in the center city area (we don't get down to the South Philly Area) besides RTM that has good fresh fish?
Looking for good Italian bakeries for bread like Sarcones
John's Roast Pork uses Carangi's rolls.

Need good Long Island lunch recommendation
Just to update this - I ended up having to change my route and went to Ferring Deli in Baldwin. It was good, but a little on the expensive side.
Flyer's game
Criniti's is an excellent suggestion for quality italian food. I'd also recommend Marra's in Passyunk Avenue for excellent pizza and other italian meals.
Need good Long Island lunch recommendation
Ok, Thanks for the information.
Are there any good NYC style delis in that area (between Newark, NJ and Medford, NJ)?
Need good Long Island lunch recommendation
Hi,
I will be traveling this week from New Jersey (Newark area) up to Long Island towards the Medford area. I will be coming up I-495 East and am looking for a good place to stop for a casual lunch. My only preferences are that the place has ample parking and is reasonably priced for lunch (under $10 for lunch). As far as what type of food, I like most types of food except for chinese and specifically would be interested in a high quality deli. In searching this board, I did see a few recommendations for the Pita House in Medford.
Any help would be appreciated. Thank You.
Deli Chicken Salad
I just wanted to add in an update here. I tried the Whole Foods chicken salad the other day. I thought it was very good. I liked the fact that it wasn't as heavy as some of the other deli chicken salad I have tried. Thanks for the great suggestion.
Deli Chicken Salad
Thanks to everyone for the suggestions. I will check out these places and report back. Thanks again for the help!
Deli Chicken Salad
I'm wondering if anyone has some suggestions as to where I can find good chicken salad from a deli. I am looking for a deli in northeast Philadelphia or in Montgomery county. I have tried several places in the northeast but many of the places tend to put too much mayo in their chicken salad and it tends to be too heavy for my liking. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
Brisket Sandwich-Philly
I second the DiNic's recommendation at the Read Terminal Market. It's an excellent sandwich and I think you'll enjoy it.
Lunch help in Delaware County
I just wanted to say thank you for all the suggestions. Unfortunately, I ended up having to take a different driving route. I ended up going to Primo Hoagies. It was pretty good, but I thought it was pretty expensive relative to other sandwich places I am used to.
Thanks again for the suggestions.
Lunch help in Delaware County
Hi,
I will be traveling from Cochranville to Norristown/Trooper and need a place to stop for lunch. Unfortunately, I am not familiar with Delaware County. The mapquest directions indicate that I will take Route 10 to Route 30 East to Route 202 North to 422 West. So, anywhere in between there would be most helpful. I'm mainly looking for something quick that I could take with me such as a good deli where I could get a sandwich or a place where I could pick up a small meal and take it with me. Outside of a deli, I like most types of food except for Chinese and Indian.
Thanks in advance
