[London] New Malden Korean recs
Went to Palace last night and had a wonderful meal. It was fairly obvious that most of us were new to Korean food (I was the only Oriental in a group of nine), and the husband came over to explain how the menu worked, and which dishes were favourites among his clientele.
I really enjoyed the traditional Korean fried noodles (and accidentally devoured most of it, thinking it was my order of chilled glass noodles), as well as the chilled glass noodles itself. The noodles were nice and springy and incredibly smooth. I swear they just slid down my throat the moment I put them in my mouth. The sliced beef ribs in soya sauce was amazing, and easily the best beef I'd eaten in a while. The seafood and kimchi pancakes were a big hit with my group as well.
All in all, the bill came up to £27 per person including service and three (alcoholic) drinks per person. We ordered just a little too much, and probably could have done with two less 'starters' but, nevertheless, a fun night out even though my hair smelt of kimchi after that.
Chocolate at Selfridges [London]
I've bought some Amadei from The Chocolate Trading Company (http://www.chocolatetradingco.com ). I'm not 100% certain but I think their prices may be cheaper than Selfridges and Paul A. Young. Yes, you have to pay for delivery, but they do offer the occasional discount, like right now because of Valentine's (think there's a 10% off code floating around somewhere). And if you combine it with a cashback site as well, the discount can be pretty decent.
Just realised you're based in the US, so maybe you could have it delivered to a friend who's going over?
London - Good & cheap Sri Lankan?
I'm not an expert on Sri Lankan food but I think Taste of Lewisham is pretty good. It's also incredibly affordable.

[London] Any recommendations in Hampton Wick/Kingston?
I've been told that another contestant in The F Word is located quite close to Hampton Wick station - Simply Thai in Teddington. It made it to the semi-finals. Its url is http://www.simplythai-restaurant.co.uk/
I haven't tried it yet, but my team is planning a trip there in the near future.
[London] Any recommendations in Hampton Wick/Kingston?
Just an update: Artisan Coffee Company no longer gives out free chocolates with every hot beverage. Ah well!
Breakfast in London
The stand should be from Moma Foods, although I've not seen it at Liverpool St even though it's stated on their website that they sell there. I get mine from the Waterloo Station stall (there are two, one on either end of the train station). I've also seen them selling at a coffee stall in the passage leading to the underground at Vauxhall train station. They've got several flavours (my favourite is Wild Berry) and a special Twitter promotion going on every Friday apparently.

[London] Any recommendations in Hampton Wick/Kingston?
Thanks for the recs! This is a rather belated reply; I work in KT1 so am rather limited to a 15 minute radius around my workplace, which pretty much rules any of the Greater Kingston places out. I'll check out New Malden's Korean places some time soon. A friend got some takeaway from there once and it was fantastic!
[London] Any recommendations in Hampton Wick/Kingston?
I found a great coffee place at the Montezuma's near Bentalls. It's called Artisan Coffee Company and is located on the first floor of the chocolate shop. They use the same coffee beans as Taylor Street Baristas. Best of all, you get a free chocolate truffle with every hot drink!
Best Posh & Trendy -London
I haven't been to the other three but I really like L'Anima. It's most definitely got ambience and the food's amazing.
London for three days......
Or better yet, go to the website and make a reservation online so that you can get there at a time you'd like without having to wait. FYI, it's BYOB with no corkage. And the lamb chops are delicious!
[London] Afternoon Tea
A Long Island Iced Tea is an extremely powerful drink, if done right. Usually contains around four different kinds of hard liquor, and, because of the sweetness of the mixer, usually doesn't taste as alcoholic as it really is. Definitely a drink for when you don't have any plans for the rest of the day!
Hunt for a Chicken Parma
Asda sells low-fat mozarella as well, as does Tesco, although only in certain branches, as far as I can tell.
Late lunch in the City?
You could try Manicomio, a nice little Italian cafe on Gutter Lane. It's less than five minutes away, and is a little on the pricey side, but it's a great place to sit down and chill out in.

[London] Search for a good Malaysian Laksa
I had the laksa at Sedap yesterday and thought it was decent. It's definitely not as spicy as the sort you'd get in Singapore or Malaysia, but it was pretty darn tasty nonetheless.
Baking supplies - London
I've not been to this place but The Guardian's Baking Guide (http://www.guardian.co.uk/lifeandstyle/2007/nov/24/foodanddrink.baking4) recommendss Jane Asher Party Cakes & Sugarcrafts located in SW3. Perhaps you could give them a call to see if they've got what you need?

Thanks all! Don't suppose there're any hidden coffee gems then?
Business Trip to London
If you'll be working late, and you like steak, you could try Hawksmoor on Commercial Road. It's not too far away from Liverpool Street. The cocktails are great and even the non-steak items were not bad. They have a burger lunch menu as well, which, apparently, isn't bad. You'll probably need to make reservations.

[London] Any recommendations in Hampton Wick/Kingston?
I'll be starting work in Hampton Wick/Kingston (within walking distance from either station) and was wondering if anyone had any recommendations on good places to eat in the area. I don't drive, so nothing too out of the way, if possible.
Thanks!
lunch in brick lane
The place is called Story Deli and they make incredible pizzas. They also have good coffee.
If you don't mind vegetarian, Rootmaster is a good bet. It's a restaurant located on a double-decker Routemaster parked in the Truman Brewery, near Story Deli. There's al fresco seating as well.
[London] Best brownies?
Oh, wow, I hadn't heard that just yet. I live nearby so I'll give that a shot. I hope they do takeaways!
London - please help with my list
I think Lindsay House is due to close on May 1st when their lease runs out.
London - please help with my list
The hummus at Hummus Bros is amazing, so good call on that one! It can get pretty busy during lunch, so your sister and her husband will most likely end up sharing a table.
As for Russell Square, perhaps you could try Bea's of Bloomsbury on Theobald's Road? Coffee, cake, sandwiches, soups (i.e. their whole entire menu) have all garnered favourable reviews.
Of the two markets you've listed, I've pick Borough Market over Brick Lane, although it does depend on what they're into. If it's just food, then definitely the former. If they're looking for interesting accessories and clothing in addition to a wide variety of food, then Brick Lane on Sunday's probably better.
Spanish Tapas in London
I've only been to Barrfina and found it very good. I went there at 12 pm on a Saturday, just about the time it opened and didn't have to wait at all, if it helps.
[London] Best brownies?
I'm not really sure myself!
At first, I thought it was because K&C's brownies come with cranberries (the tartness of the berries go really well with the intense chocolate-y taste of the brownie), but wasn't able to find any reference to the berries when I Googled 'Boston brownies'. So, after trawling through a number of sites, I think I found the answer!
Apparently, it's because the origin of the brownie has been traced back to Boston, at least according to The Nibble which states that the earliest published brownie recipe was in a Boston cookbook (http://www.thenibble.com/reviews/main/cookies/cookies2/history-of-the-brownie.asp).
[London] Best brownies?
I did a search but wasn't able to find any previous thread which touched on this, so apologies if I somehow missed it.
Who does the best brownies in London?
I've tried brownies from Bullet, Flour Power City, Choc Star, Clarke's and Paul A. Young, but my personal favourite has got to be Konditor & Cook's Boston Brownies.
Just wondering if there're other shops out there which I've missed out on.
Singapore: Hawker Food Chowdown at Maxwell Rd Market
Ooops, sorry for not explaining, and also for jumping in a month late or so. I'm just a UK-based Singaporean who a) used to work near Maxwell and b) isn't not sure when she'll next be back!
And, in this case, I wasn't referring to just the deep fried meat roll; I was referring to the whole assortment that comes from any ngoh hiang stall (the pink roll of meat, the deep fried prawn fritters, fried tofu, century egg, spring rolls, bee hoon, etc.)!
[London] Coffee@ chain - closed?
Update: I wandered down Brick Lane yesterday and noticed that the Coffee@ branch near Bethnal Green Road is still open, although the signage has changed (it doesn't have the '@' sign anymore, if I recall correctly).
The one near the Old Truman Brewery now has a sign saying "Sorry, we're f***ed" and directs people to the other branch.
Singapore: Hawker Food Chowdown at Maxwell Rd Market
Whenever I'm at Maxrell Road Market, it's not the chicken rice or the porridge I head for (primarily as I'm a Five Star Hainanese Chicken Rice fan). It's the ngoh hiang (both stalls are famous) and the goreng pisang!
Biltong in London or online?
I think I saw some at the Greenwich covered market on Sunday, but can't recall the name of the stall... has anyone else seen it?
Kipferl and Dose, Clerkenwell, London
I've tried Tea. It's been there for over a year now. It's got a nice atmosphere, and even though my friend and I were the only customers one Saturday evening, and the staff were bustling around, preparing to close the shop, they didn't try to hurry us in any way.
