Taj Mahal (on University half a block below San Pablo) started offering a lunch buffet last week. Smaller than Priya's spread but very good quality (if a little salty for me). Today was chicken curry, goat curry, tandoori chicken, saag paneer, rice pol, naan, and a few other dishes. Very nice, family-run and they replenish the serving dishes often.

I love Denny's too - biscuits, gravy and hashbrowns for $1.99! Free Grand Slam on birthdays - chicken sausage patties, poached eggs and whole grain pancakes. Only problem is it can be slow because they're busy.

Happy Easter Brunch at the Hidden City Cafe [Point Richmond]
Had a $5 Chinook coupon for the HCC in Point Richmond ( which I have been wanting to try) and needed to go to Outback (the Temple of Venus) anyway. Drove out from Berkeley at 1, found a parking place right nearby and an open table at the front window. Was greeted immediately, server Kevin informed me that they were backed up and sold out of certain items (polenta scrapple, darn it) but lamb hash was on special - sold! Food arrived in about 15 minutes and was delicious - especially the unexpected house-made horseradish sauce. A very pleasant, if pricey for me, experience.
