Fontana Famous Pizza & Gyro (Bayside)

Well I have ordered food from Gyro Corner as well as Gyro World. I will agree the food tastes great from Gyro World HOWEVER the portions are tiny and the prices are inflated. As for Gyro Corner we have ordered from there for lunch numerous times and EVERYONE has some sort of complaint so we don't order from them any more. As far as Kati Allo the first was the last the food was disgusting all around!!!!!!!!!

Fontana Famous Pizza & Gyro (Bayside)

Fontana Famous Pizza & Gyro located on Northern Blvd. and Francis Lewis Blvd. has been a neighborhood staple since i'm a child. We often order take out from this place. The place is packed 7 days a week. The food here is good the prices can't be beat and I find the portions to be favorful. The calamri as far as take out goes is good. The chicken and regular soulvaki tastes great and is a great price. This place is good to eat in and excellent to take. I always check the order before I leave because it is so busy there can be mistakes. Also take my advice I program their number in my cell phone and call my order in before I go so it is ready. The only thing these guys need to do start delivery but I have a hunch business is so good they don't have too. Also the spinich pie is great!!!

Erwan Steak & Seafood Bayside

I recently ate at Erwan Steak & Seafood in Bayside, just off Bell Blvd. If you are ever in Bayside this place is a must to check out. As soon as you walk into this restaurant your eyes will be filled with delight at the decor. I went with my boyfriend and two of my childhood friends. The food was phenominal from start to finish. For starters we had the Erwan calamari with a Thai sweet chilli sauce it was excellent. We also had the crab cakes they were very good but there was only two pieces so it would be better for one person as opposed to the whole table to share. We also had a few orders of Steamed mussles in a Thai herb broth (white wine) again excellent. For dinner I had the New York sirloin steak with a side of smashed sweet potatoes it was cooked to perfection and it was excellent. My boyfriend and one of my other friends had the surf & turf which consists of an 8oz. Filet Mignon and African Lobster Tail and I sampled both and it was excellent as well and both of them were raving about their dinner. My other friend had a special that night, it was a crispy chicken in a blend of Thai spices she loved it, she gave us the rest to take home and I have to tell you I wish I had the recipe. Lastly I should mention that we had the Blue Point oysters and they were of a fine quality. The drinks were a bit pricy average glass of wine including White Zinfindel, Merlot, and Pinot Grigio as we were drinking all three was about $9.00-$12.00 a glass. This place also has a great bar in it that has a nice crowd as well very Manhattan like lounge feel to it. Lastly when I do go out to eat I make a mental note of the bathroom because the way the bathroom is kept is an indication of how the kitchen is kept and the bathroom here was top notch. I actually was surprised at how beautiful it was. This place is nothing short of fantastic and I have been recommending this place to everyone!!! Please go and enjoy.

Waterfront Crabhouse in LIC

I went to the Crabhouse last month for my Birthday! It was a wednesday night and the place was pretty dead. I have eaten here about 4 or 5 times in the past 3 years and the first few times I enjoyed it. This last time I decided to get a good look at the place as I have decided that I am probably never going back. The place might look nostalgic to some but upon giving this place a real once over since it was dead I decided it was just dirty, dusty and needs a make over. The first few times I went this place was PACKED the last few times it was empty. The highlight is when a cat suddenly appeared by our table and a waitor shoed him into the coat closet. Now for the meal. I had a mixed seafood and pasta in fra diavlo sauce as did my boyfriend it was okay nothing to write home about. The waiter seemed hardly interested in coming over to the table but rather liked talking to the other people that worked there. We just looked at each other and said we're never coming here again. So basically this place is old, drab, and the food a tad overpriced for so so cooking.

Juniors Cheesecake Brooklyn a terrible waste of money!

Actually my boyfriend took the rest home and he actually cut it up for her!!!

Juniors Cheesecake Brooklyn a terrible waste of money!

Last night I took my 13 year old God daughter who lives in Brooklyn to dinner at Juniors Cheesecake in Brooklyn. For starters the place is very dated, and on the dirty side. It needs major renovations. Our waitress could not care less about any thing, she took our orders without writing them down and this would be impressive if she did not have to walk back to our table 3 times to ask us about our order because she forgot. Also while we were waiting for our food there was a situation in the kitchen and they I quote "had to call in the big guns" judging from the look on the 4 or 5 wait staff faces who did not want to go into the kitchen (since we were sitting right next to the kitchen) I would guess it was a rodent situation. I am not exactly sure. My God daughter was the only smart one she got the 20oz steak and it was good. I got brisket with potato pancakes it was NOT GOOD. My boyfriend got a BBQ chicken and ribs dinner it had a red disgusting mystery sauce on it that did not taste good, his entree also came with pea soup it was like a paste and it tasted burned. Needless to say neither he or I ate our meals. We also ordered calamari which was okay, and an order of mozzarella sticks that were generic at best like maybe school lunch. Lastly the only two vegetable choices were broccoli and collard greens. Can you say disgusting? The most audacious part of the evening is that after 9pm they add a 15% gratuity to the bill but I guess when you have service like that it's the only way the wait staff would be able to get a tip. On an ending note I think it's ridiculous that they have a woman in the bath room pumping hand soap and giving out towels as the place is anything but classy and the fact that you can look into the unkempt kitchen as you go up the stairs to the bathroom doesn't help your eating expierence. In all this was a huge waste of driving time from Bayside Queens and a painful waste of $111.00.
