Orange Sky at Talking Stick - Has anyone been?
Looking for someplace new to try, has anyone been to Orange Sky? I stopped up to see the room once which was very nice, killer patio and view.
I need Pies!!
Having a birthday party for my husband, not a big cake guy but like blueberry pie. Who makes good pies in Phoenix? I would like to get 5 different kinds for the party.
Where to buy Italian Tuna?
Whole Food carries it or try Andrioli Italian Grocer on Via Linda.
Spotted Donkey on Hayden & Via de Ventura
Has anyone been to the Spotted Donkey since Robert McGrath took over?
MB Post
We ate at MB Post 2 times when we were vacationing in MB this summer. Food rocked, service was great, Chef Dave is a super star! I can't wait to go back next time we are in town.
Brunch w/kids in Manhattan Beach
Thanks for the help, we ended up staying in for brunch. We ate at Mama D's twice, the food was fine but the kids loved it and the service was great! The other place we really loved was MB Post. We ate there two times, the first time with our kids, ages 6 & 8 and they were very accommodating to help us out with kid eaters. Any kid would love the enormous fries they serve. We went a second time without the boys and had another great meal, really worked our way through the menu with two visits. Service was, loved the space and there really is nothing else like the place in Manhattan Beach.
Dinner in Peoria
We have to be in Peoria Friday night and need a good dinner spot, any suggestions?
Brunch w/kids in Manhattan Beach
Thanks for the suggestions. $$ not a big issue, our kids are as good as two boys can be, not overly adventurous with their eating. Can travel some distance but don't want to be caught in traffic. Good Italian would be nice, places where they are welcome but we can get a good cocktail.
Brunch w/kids in Manhattan Beach
Visiting MB for a week and having brunch with some LA friend but will have kids (6 & 8) along, any suggestions for a good spot? Any other places we should go while we are in town?
Litchfields at the Wigwam.
Anyone been to Litchfields at the Wigwam? Is it kid friendly at all?
Long Weekend in Scottsdale for First Timers
I would recommend Rancho Pinot Grill as well. We ate there Saturday night and had a wonderful meal. Very warm restaurant with an "Arizona" atmosphere.

For Breakfast I would suggest Over Easy at the Altel Ice Den, only 5-10 minutes from the hotel.

For what it's worth, we love Fnb, Renegade Canteen and Noca, don't care for Cowboy Ciao, and I have not eaten at Binkley's in a long time but I wasn't a fan back then. I hope to try is again sometime soon to give it another chance.
If you like to have cocktails before dinner, depending on where you are of course there are both great views from the Four Seasons and Elements/Jade Bar at Sanctuary.

POSH Scottsdale - ugh, what an expensive disappointment
We finally made it to Posh this past Saturday night and what a disappointment to say the least.
There were three of us there, ordered 5 course tastings and there was not one totally successful dish out of the 15 in total. There were some good parts to some of the dishes but nothing even came close to a WOW.
Calling it improvisational is also a stretch. You fill out a form with a bunch of proteins listed, check what you don't want, circle what you really really want and then list anything else you prefer not to have in the dish, i.e. a spice or veggie you don't like. To me it was just more like mystery dining, nothing was made special for me as lots of other diners had the exact same dishes.
Service was okay, should have been better for the cost. I think our waiter tired of us by the end of the meal anyway, vibes of disappointment coming from the table.
The only thing that was awesome was the vodka the waiter suggested which I believe was called Russian Standard, very smooth indeed.
Twist, Alex, Bar Charlie, Guy Savoy Bubbles Bar
We ate at Bubble Bar in October and thought it was a great deal for the quality of food you are receiving, portions were generous as well. Just sampled a few items because it was our pre-dinner stop but would return on our next trip. The bread was also very yummy! The Champagne was what was expensive
Four Night in Vegas - Please Critique my List
We were in Vegas last month, went for a late night burger at Bradley Ogden which was great. Sat at the bar and had great service, even got some complementary champagne and dessert, would go again.
The one other "snack' we really enjoyed was at the Bubble Bar at Guy Savoy, we went our actual dinner to try it out. Some of the most expensive champagne by the glass around BUT you can order a tasting at the bar, something like $40.00 for 4 bites, easily could have been a meal and everything was fantastic. A great value for what you are spending.
First Food & Bar at the Palazzo also kept coming up as a good place to try but we never got there.

LV - Asian noodle spots & Bubble Bar
Going to Vegas and want to eat at one of the asian places all the hotels have these day but which one is the best? I love a good bowl of asian noodles!
On another note, anyone been to the Bubble Bar and is it worth it?
College Football Brunch in Phoenix
I believe Teakwoods Tavern at Indian School & 28th opens early and had lots of tv's for games.
Cupcakes with bacon (PHX)
Has anyone heard of a place that is putting bacon on or in their cupcakes?
Scottsdale: Humble Pie!
I have young kids and we go to Humble Pie often. They are always friendly and my kids love the food. My 6 year old especially likes the calamari, tentacles and all. I never go to a restaurant without some kind of book/crayons/stickers etc. to occupy my kids, we get a nice glass of wine and good food.
Rancho Pinot is one of our favorite place in the Valley as well.
Review: Cowboy Ciao - Scottsdale, AZ (w/ photos!)
Three of us ate at Cowboy Ciao for the first time last week. We have lived in the Valley for three years and figured it was time to give it a try. I have to say hands down the WORST meal I have had in years. I really wanted to like this place but ugh! Service was average, nothing wrong with it really although she really could not answer any questions we asked.
So many better places to spend your money these days, at least now I know.
Vail Rec. Please!
We ate at the bar at Larkspur during the summer and had a fantastic meal although it was very pricey. Other than that we found most places to be average at best.
Richardson's, Tarbells or Rancho Pinot tonight?
Although I have never had a great meal at Tarbells there is something about the place I really like. We often stop in and sit at the bar to eat which is very pleasant.
We have eaten at Rancho Pinot many times and never had a bad experience.
PHX - Visiting Foodie Seeking to Impress
Rancho Pinot Grill is also open on Mondays and Chrysa is making the house mozzarella at the bar.
Restaurant REM
Anyone know what is up with Restaurant REM these days because it doesn't look like much is happening with the space?
Suggestions for a 50th anniversary celebration (phoenix)
Kazimierz is probably too casual. I have not been to T-Cooks in a while and the last time I was there I was not impressed with the food or service. We were considering Sassi, a wine cellar room would be cool, where are some? The drive is not an issue either as we may get a limo to take everyone.
Suggestions for a 50th anniversary celebration (phoenix)
My parents are celebrating their 50th anniversary next month and we are trying to come up with a place for 10 of us (family) to have a nice dinner, perhaps where we could get a private room. There are a few picky eaters and/or a few who keep kosher. Some of their favorite places are Pizzaria Bianco which is out of the question and Tonto Grill. Price is not our main concern and someplace inexpensive and fun would be just as good as pricey and fun.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
