I am having a blast shopping in this city! I was at Zabars today (loved it), but wasn't able to find nice wooden skewers. I am using for a small hors 'douvre of chery tomato and buffalo mozzarella. I am staying at the Chelsea Piers but can take a taxi to pick them up. thanks!

thanks ren! missed the market today since we did the cheesy red bus tour, but will check out on friday. I found the quail eggs at the italian maret that i needed, that place is great! I will find the espresso place since i am from Seattle. I walked around looking for a good cup and settled for starbucks, thanks!

on a separate note I had an amazing peanut butter and jelly cupcake from blue smoke at a bbq festival last year in the flatiron park. I have checked the restaurant website and they do not serve, but was amazing!

Hey, I am a yacht chef and docked at Chelsea Piers for a few weeks. Have some guest trips coming up and would like to know some of the best spots around town for meat, fish, general stuff etc. I found the local whole foods, I think I found an awesome fish store at the chelsea market (along with an amazing italian market). I am headed to Zabars and Lobells tomorrow. I remember there is a good farmers market past the flatiron district. btw I had the most amazing sandwich at Katz.s today (pastrami rueben) Seriously like the best sandwich I have ever had. Then to Magnolia bakery for cupcakes- I was so excited to try the red velvet cupcake but it was dry and terrible. Also money is not an issue. you can follow along as i try and figure this all out at cheftraveler.com thanks for your time we have busy and I have not had time to research.

Our boat will be at the chelsea piers for a few weeks. Any restaurant ideas? Nothing fancy, just the best food the area has to offer, pizza, asian, sanwiches, etc. Willing to travel a bit for amazing food!
