Seeking genuine Italian in Providence

You might want to try Danella's. Great food, and not to bad on the wallet. Or you can skip the Hill all together and go to Mike's Kitchen in Cranston. In my opinion it's the best

Birthday Ideas Providence area

Okay chowhounds time is running out..In search of some nice places to go for a birthday dinner with my lovely bride..Yes I'm one of the guys that waits to the last minute. I'm thinking Sunday night or Monday night. . Last year we went to Abe & Louie's up in Boston for a nice steak. I live in the Providence area. and willing to travel for some good food & experience . I'm open to anything. we hit just about every Italian place on the Hill. But I will go again with a good recommendation. Something different I guess you could say I'm looking for. Has anybody heard about the Melting Pot @ Providence place. How about Bar Louie @ Patriots place. "Lets hear it Chowhounds" I'm on the clock...

Meeting in DAL (Love Field Airport)

I'll be spending a few days in Dal around Love field. I want to know where I can get a good steak dinner. I'll be using a taxi. So not to far away from the airport.

Thanks

Ft Lauderdale Las Olas area Valentine's Day

Hello fellow chow hounds, just looking for some good ideas for a nice dinner. Any good Italian restaurants or steak house would do. Kind of a casual place we prefer

Thanks

Best pizza in Providence?

I agree with you on Bob n Timmy's..ate there last nite. I had the traditional pizza which was really good. I also ordered the house salad with there homemade balsamic dressing which was very tastey. I sat at the bar and watched the Sox, it was great. good pizza, cold beer, friendly staff and the Sox on the tube. what more can I ask for... Has you can see I eat out alot and willing to travel for a good pie...

Best pizza in Providence?

I'm here to tell you the best thin crust pizza I've had in a very long time is in Warwick. FAT BELLY'S PUB I had a chance to eat there last night. Excellent pizza. It's worth the drive.

Grand Re-Opening of Loco Wine and Tapas Bar in South Easton

Had a chance to visit Loco Tapa's & Wine last night 3/22/08. I drove up from South County RI and it was worth the trip. Yes, you do have to get there early, the place opens up at 5:00pm We arrived at about 5:30 and no problems. they sat us right away. You get there at 6:00, plan on waiting. They do allow you to call ahead and put your name on the list.but if your not there when you say. they won't hold your reservation. Because of what type of place it is there is a slow turn over on tables. The food was excellent. just to name few Tapas Patatas bravas (fried potatoes) good stuff. Calamari was excellent. overall a great place to come if you want a different type of dining experience. The owner and the chef were both out on the floor talking with guests. Thumbs up on the cleanliness.
By the way the place in Providence La Moia I heard it had a fire in the building. So I not sure there open anymore.
