The Roadhouse has new owners, a new menu, & a newly redesigned back dining room. Their mission is farm to table serving up freshly prepared foods beautifully. It's really fantastic and seems to get better every time we go!
The daily lunch menu is great as well.
The burger is juicy and flavorful. The soups are divine, especially the french onion with brisket. The sandwiches (we've had the BLT, burger and Cuban) are really tasty.
You should definitely go for Sunday brunch. What a great way to wind down the weekend with some fantastic food. The french toast is like a dessert with bananas and whipped cream. The omelettes are super tasty and the cheese grits are pretty good (not the best, but good). They serve a nice array of foods, including items from their lunch menu. Good bloody mary's (ask for extra spicy if you like more of a kick).
In the summer, the appetizer portion of the menu is even better!
Anyway, give it a try. I am so glad it's 5 minutes from us. We now go weekly.
Good to know. That's ok - I can definitely cook the items (as long as they're already prepared).
Is the prime rib prepared (spices, etc.)?
I am - but I will be in Florida for Christmas (which makes this harder!!)
I am trying to find the best place(s) to order a pre-cooked meal (every course if I can) that I can simply heat up. I usually cook most holiday meals, but this year I just want something super easy and delicious.
All I can find are reviews about places that do regular meal delivery...that's not what I am looking for.
I love Zingerman's for breads, coffeecake, etc.
I've been eyeing Williams-Sonoma's food - the prime rib, macaroni and cheese, sweets, etc.
I've also started to look at Dean & Deluca's site...
I am stuck - I've never done this before and I want to make sure the meal is high-quality and delicious!
Does anyone have a recommendation? I am totally open to other places as well - WS and DD were just the only ones I could think of!
p.s. I live in Brooklyn, but we're celebrating Christmas in Marco Island, FL. so I need a plave that does nationwide (or local to Marco) delivery.
i was going to get married in my garden, but after doing measurements we found out it will only really seat 15-20 max. so, i am looking around at local restaurants now. a few i was thinking about are:
Robin des Bois (Sherwood Café on smith street)
They are more than we budgeted for, but it does make it easier...
If you have anymore ideas for restaurants, I am all ears!
that is a great idea! thank you!
I am planning my wedding now, and am desperately trying to find a caterer that has GREAT - GOOD seafood/fish for my smallish (30 people) wedding.
My heart was set on Brooklyn Fish Camp (love the food tho it's not the best fish i've had, simple menu), but they either need to shut the restaurant down for a saturday night off-site event OR we have to have the wedding party there. I am not totally against having it at their restaurant...but
I also stopped by Blue Ribbon and they *just* stopped catering (like a week ago).
So, I am at a loss! I have been searching online like crazy and finally decided to post here...
Any help/advice/horror-success stories welcomed!
thanks so much,
