Sorry. O.K. Then how about eastern european restaurants in the village?

good places that say NEW YORK, NEW YORK for not-too-adventurous tourists

Hi, Pan: O.K. So I am the person entertaining a British and Lithuanian couple. I want to show them what is really New York so your suggestions for moderately priced atmospheric Eastern European.

Thanks, Pan and traumachef.

I am needing to get back to brooklyn's park slope so I was looking for the nearest place but west village is really o.k. as well.

Concerning idea of more interesting (but not very pricey--moderate pricing o.k.) dinner spot followed by going to jazz club, yes that would be awesome. Just remembered that my British friend whom I am entertaining has a Latvian wife. Any ideas for fare that might be nostalgic for her in a restaurant near the Jazz Clubs?? (Btw, which of the west village jazz clubs would you recommend or folk clubs would be interesting as well--like the ones Dylan performed at?). Sorry, I am not being linear. Let me try:

1. Best jazz and folk clubs with restaurants nearby in east or west village area?
2. Best restaurants near these jazz and folk clubs?
3. Any Eastern European/Russian type restaurants?

THANK YOU. LOVING BLOGS. " IT TAKES A VILLAGE" TO HAVE A NICE EVENING OUT.

East Village with Music

Hi. I am entertaining guests from england and want to go to dinner someplace very nyc--jazzy or bluesy music with good chow--moderately priced--safe hood. Easy to get cab late at night. Funky but not too funky. . .for middle agers who are young at heart but not too young at heart. Ethicity of food not so important--more interested in interesting ambience with good food.

Love to hear from you! Thanks.
