Thanksgiving dinner: What is your LEAST favorite menu item that you can't get rid of?

Funny how everyone's traditions at the holidays can be so different! In my mind, there are no green veggies at Thanksgiving - all yellow and orange. Turnip, butternut squash, boiled onions....
Unfortunately, I am the only one who likes turnip, so I don't often have it, thus at T-giving it's a must.
And I love the canned, jellied cranberry sauce!

I am not a sweet potato girl, and anything with marshmallows in it is just wrong!

Vegan Fluffy Buttercream Frosting

Okay, I tried it. I used all Earth Balance and no shortening. It is delicious. I've filed this one for future use.
Thanks!

Vegan Fluffy Buttercream Frosting

I'm shocked at the rudeness of some of the commenters. What's up with that?

Anyway, my son is vegan, so I plan to make this frosting for a "tomato soup cake". The other vegan recipes I've seen don't sound nearly this good. I'll let you know how it goes.

What is pork butt?

My husband is from No. Carolina, and he loves pulled pork. The NC version, called "barbecue" is pulled pork in vinegar. I found it rather unappealing, and prefer the barbecue red sauce version. I am a New Englander, and we tend to not love things that are mushy, and NC barbecue is definitely mushy.

I have noticed that on the cooking shows, they like to use pork butt, and I am definitely going to try some of the recipes linked here.

Thanks!

Musing on the range of comfort food - what dishes hug you?

I'm surprised no one said mac 'n cheese. Also, beef stew, American chop suey, meatloaf....

Help! Rappie Pie?

I have heard this term used as a substitute for Shepherd's Pie (layered ground beef, corn and mashed potatoes).

Portland, where's the SeaFood???

My husband and I only go to Portland every once in a while, but we enjoy DiMillo's. It's a converted boat, and while not gourmet, it is a decent place with lots of seafood options.
