Please provide recommendations for restaurants in Punta Mita. My wife and I will be there in March with our two young children. We are looking for places that have good food, representative of local cuisine and will provide a good experience. We need some places that are okay for children and would also like one or two recommendations for places to go that might be more high end for nights when we will go out without the kids. Thanks.

I will be in South Beach in early Febraury for one night during the week. I'm looking for a place to eat alone at the bar that will have good food, service and atmosphere. I've eaten at most places in SB - Prime 112, Nobu, Meat Market, Bond Street, etc. Would Kobe Club fit this discription? Are there better suggestions?

What's the best restaurant for dining alone? My best dinners to date have been the bar at Babbo and Nobu. What's as good or better both for food and ease for dining alone.
South Beach - girls weekend - cuban, tapas, steakhouse -- must love food!
This is simple: Go to Prime 112 and Nobu. You'll have good food, see a great crowd and have plenty of fun.

They are all very new. Based on the track record of the owners, I'd put my money on Publican.

I've eaten there three or four times and have enjoyed many more dishes than not (but didn't like some). Clearly they are going thru some growing pains. Let's all hope GE makes it work. I think it has the potential to be both a great and important restaurant for Chicago.

I go to Keefer's at least twice a month for business lunches and find it to be consistantly exellent. Very good food, service and atmosphere.

Still mourning Chinatown's Hong Min
Hong Min's best dish - Mr. Weild's (sp?) Shrimp. That was a great dish. I haven't found anything close.
Il Mulino or Pane Caldo
It depends what you're looking for. Il Mulino is more formal and theatrical. Pane Caldo is a bit less formal. The food at both places is good - not great. Coco Pazzo is a bit less of a scene but probably a bit better food. My guess is that if you're looking for a memerable experience you'll find it at Il Mulino.

Arriving late on a Thursday night
Avec on West Randolph is a 3 minute cab ride. Great food and you can sit at the bar. It's open late.
Maison D'Azur closed
I also had a bad experience. The food wasn't memorable but their (bad) attitude sure was.
Dinner - Price Not an Object - Single Diner
You can have a very civilized dinner at Blackbird's bar. They set it up like you'd find at high end restaurants in NYC (I had a great dinner this way at Babbo). It's very good food and professional service. You may also want to consider eating next door at Avec. I think it's one of the best places for one person to have dinnner in Chicago.
