Bend for breakfast

I liked CHOW, and laughed at the name! ;)

We waited a bit but it was a beautiful day and we were sitting outside. I got a "bowl" with grain and veggies and it was pretty tasty.

Crawdad Meat- recipe suggestions?

I recently came across a great find at a grocery store in Oregon. Frozen, high quality crawdad meat! its a small package- maybe a third of a pound, or maybe a half pound.
I've never cooked with this before, any suggestions? I'm thinking I could throw it in a gumbo? or.... crawdad cakes?

:) I know fresh is better but frozen's what I got folks...

Need an Easy and Savory Appetizer Recipe

I do baked brie- Take a medium (hockey puck?) wheel of brie, place it on top of a square of puff pastry... then spoon some jam (you could even do pepper jelly?) and take the corners and fold them to make a sort of whirly-do pattern. Bake until golden brown in a 425 oven. It ends up being savory and you serve with crackers. ALWAYS A HIT, MY FRIEND. People love-a the cheese-a.

Can I roast a pumpkin that froze outside?

Hello there chowhounds-
I have some pumpkins (two small regular(?) one medium cinderella) that have been sitting outside since october. I'm in Oregon where its been about 28 degrees for about what feels like forever. I've been meaning to roast these pumpkins up, however, do you think anything will be compromised by the fact that they probably got completely frozen whilst being neglected outdoors? I'd let them thaw pre-baking.... any suggestions would be great!

SURVEY: When/Where/How did you learn to cook?

I was born in 1987-

I grew up in a food stamps household with almost no homemade food. Actually, none until I was 10 and moved in with my dad and stepmom. My stepmom, bless her soul, is a great woman but not the best cook. I always loved food and had an interest in it from my early teens. I loved the cookbook http://www.amazon.com/Clueless-Kitche... Clueless in the Kitchen, and learned some basic skills from that.

On my own in college I went pescatarian for about three years, subsisting on pizza, french fries, and morningstar entrees. Not a great diet.

When I turned about 23 I started gaining a huge interest in cooking, I frequented this site :) and others like thekitchn.com and budgetbytes.com etc that really inspired me. Now I cook every day froma wide range of ethnic cuisines, as well as cater lunches at the winery I work for during harvest!

Is Autolyzed Yeast Extract the same as MSG? Is it in Better than Bouillon?
