Green Street, Hungry Mother or Central Kitchen?

My guess is that if you put on a blindfold and tasted cocktails made by Misty, as well as some of the bartenders presently at Green Street, you wouldn't be able to tell the difference. Misty is an amazing bartender. I simply think that this is all subjective, and if you see Misty making your drink you assume the drink is going to be excellent based on her skill.

Store with good single malt selection?

Not in Cambridge/Somerville but the Wine Gallery on Route 9 in Brookline has an amazing selection.

New Chef/Changed Menu @ Green Street

There is a new chef at Green Street. Be interested in what people think of the new menu. I tried the short rib appetizer, which was one of the best dishes I have had there in a long time. Little bit of spice (sorely lacking on the menu) with the jalapeno, grilled romaine/bread salad, and the ribs are sliced a different way than normal. Very tasty. Dylan also continues to expand his beer selection, which I think is the best in town.

Green St. criticism - bar menu

This is sort of tangential response: I have noticed that the old chef, Pete, is no longer in the kitchen...which might mean that there are menu changes on the way. Though I doubt you will see a burger on the menu, you might see some sort of a sandwich that you could eat at the bar. By the way, I usually just have a liquid dinner at Green Street.

Bacon Egg & Cheese-Please

Update-tried one earlier at Cafe Dino on MIlk Street, Not bad, and definitely cooked the way you described (on an english muffin). I didn't have cheddar, but I am sure they have it.

Bacon Egg & Cheese-Please

appreciate the advice, but i never said i don't like salt (thus the BACON, egg, and cheese). sometimes restaurants/food joints can be heavy on the salt even for people that like salt.

Bacon Egg & Cheese-Please

I work downtown, around the corner from Chacarero and I need to find a place qith a good breackfast sandwich. Chacarero's is good, but a little too big and heavy on the salt. There are a lot of options, I just wonder if any stick out?

eastern standard just lost our saturday night reservation for 12...help!

I would second Green Street-they are good at accomodating large(ish) parties and have a lot of good drink options (plus an under-rated wine list) for a birthday

2nd excellent time at Benatti (Inman Sq)

On the positive side: its location is actually pretty good (and one could argue better than Oleana's) due to the fact that it is on Cambridge St. which has a ton of foot traffic and lots of other restaurants/shops in the immediate vicinity. As someone who grew up in Cambridge, I never cease to be amazed at what people are willing to pay for things (housing, food, drinks) in my hometown, so I'm not sold on the idea that Benatti's prices might hinder its success.

2nd excellent time at Benatti (Inman Sq)

Benatti is not in Boston, and there are relatively few "upscale Italian" places in Cambridge, especially Inman Square. As for Oleana's lower price point, as far as I remember its not cheap to eat there regardless. Furthermore, the point made by MC Slim was that the neighborhood wasn't used to this level of fine dining, not the price of the food. I am sure that you both would agree that Oleana is fine dining.

North End Restaurant

Try Maurizios. Sardinian food, small place, good wine, not too pricy, and a little bit farther down Hanover Street.

If Oleana can make it, why not Benatti?
