Any places in Toronto worthy of being on Food Network's Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives? Messini on the Danforth is clearly worthy. Outstanding. ----- |

Narrowing down Italian Choices Enoteca Sociale was one of best Italian meals in a long time. ----- |

I had a burger at E11even this past week. New restaurant owned by MLSE on the west side of ACC. Best burger I have had in a long time. It was pricey at $17.00 but worth it. Freshly ground ribeye is my best guess. Done medium rare. Incredibly meaty, juicy and simple. The accompanying fries were unremarkable. Worth every penny. |

Complete waste of time and money. My very generous brother and sister in law bought tickets for my birthday last year and I had to be polite and say it was very nice but it was the biggest waste of time ever. Take the cash and time you were going to spend and go to a restaurant you've never been to with your significant other. I can't say enough bad things about it. |

Been many times on business. This used to be my favourite spot downtown but no longer. Service is outstanding, food is ok but price is sky high. It is a great spot in the evening looking down on the city. Worth it for special celebrations. |

I work in the neighborhood and have had breakfast and lunch there numerous times. Very good and outstanding service. Basic diner type food. Very reasonable prices. I don't think that they have a liquor license yet. Thank God this thing opened up as there is no place to eat anywhere nearby. |

Royal York and Dundas restaurant recommendations--within, say a 5-10 minute drive? Green Mango on Bloor and Royal York for Thai, Chodang Soon Tofu on Dundas just east of Kipling for Korean and Casa Barcelona on Bloor near Royal York for tapas. ----- Green Mango |

My favourite DDD type resto in Toronto is Messini on the Danforth. The best real gyro in Toronto. Slices of meat slowly roasted and not some meatloaf on a stick. Lineups out the door. Terrific value. Friendly staff. ----- |

In 1984 my girlfriend, who is now my wife, was able to save few dollars on her student's budget and took me out on a date to Bumpkins. It was a special dinner...Time travels too fast. |

Huge recommendation for Messini at Logan and Danforth. Absolutely the best gyros in the city. Just like they do in Greece. After having one of their gyros with fries in the middle with a diet coke, makes you want to riot on the streets against the Germans and their damn austerity programs. |

I have worked in this area since 1987. For such a busy intersection, this must be one of the worst parts of the city for restaurants. Nothing worthwhile either at the high or low end. Spiga has been a mainstay for years and their pasta is very good. Browne's is one of my favourites but futher down to near Summerhill. Didier is too much (cost and richness of food). Mint/Circle Thai is ok for once in a while but... There is a Vietnamese pho place in St. Clair west of Yonge which is pretty good but the attitude I get from the dude running the place keeps me from returning more than once a month. |
