Indian- Western LI/Eastern Queens?

I know they're out there, but I can't find a decent Indian place. Tried Southern Spice in New Hyde Park- meh. Santoor in Glen Oaks- spotty. Any suggestions? Thanks.

charming venues for baby shower - manhattan

I think the place I'm thinking of is called Inn at Irving Place. It is right up your alley. They specialize in tea service, and are used to baby showers, bridal showers, birthdays, that kind of girlie thing. The place oooooozes charm.

Foxwoods- best moderately priced restaurants?

OK, OK, hit me with Mohegan recs.

Foxwoods- best moderately priced restaurants?

Want good value, if possible, and even a little romantic. Any ideas? Thanks.

Best brownies Nassau/Western Suffolk?

Hi, I would need a sheet of them at least, for a party. Anybody know who has a great one?

waldbaums supermarkets on Long Island

I absolutely hate my Waldbaum's in Albertson. There are never enough people at checkout... so there is ALWAYS a line. You have to be prepared to spend a half-hour there, even if you only need a few items. The produce is incredibly overpriced. It's an overall unpleasant shopping experience. I understand the profit margin for supermarkets is razor thin, but this place just doesn't deliver.

L.I. Restaurant with party room big enough for dancing?

Looking for a restaurant or even just a space that has a party room big enough for a DJ with dancing. It's for a BM kid's party, so food doesn't have to be gourmet. (sorry chowhounds!) Western Nassau preferred. Thanks!

Restaurnt 388 in Roslyn Heights?

Anybody have a review? Would it be good for a pre-temple dinner for a BM?

Bridal shower tea on Long Island

I went to a lovely tea at the Garden City Hotel. I'm sure it's kinda pricey, though.

Long Island - Brunch location or a 1 year old birthday party

I'm doing a brunch at Mim's in Roslyn. They are known for their good food. Check them out!

Eats near NY Presbyterian Hospital (York Ave)

If it's nice weather, how about eating outside? There's a great Caribbean food truck run by Yvonne across the street from the hospital. Really good jerk and curry dishes.

Vatan vs Bhojan

I went to Vatan years ago. Do you still sit on the floor?

Se Ja Meh-- What to order at Korean Restaurants?

Never been to Korean, and am kind of intimidated. Anything not to miss, and what's the procedure for grilling at the table?

Romantic early bird or lunch near Trinity Church?

Is there anything in the area of Trinity Church that's got a cozy feeling with good food? Thanks.

Best Soft Serve Ice Cream in Long Island

You tried the best, now try the rest. I don't thing anybody beats Marvel. I still like Carvel, though. It seems some spots put more air in the mix than others. I like the location in East Williston on Hillside Ave.

Best Happy Hour food- Long Island?

I'm wondering who has the best spread... looking to nurse a drink, and warm up the tummy. Thanks.

Schroon Lake area -- looking for moderate to high end interesting cuisine

There is a restaurant South of Schoon Lake in Pottersville, I think. It's in an old inn. It had a sophisicated feel with some fancier dishes. Help, anyone? But on the whole, Suse48 is right. For casual in Schoon Lake, I like Pitkins. Try the ribs. And surprisingly good and different pizza at DeCeseares. But NOT fancy.

Sripraphai coming to Nassau?

I passed by a sign on Hillside Ave. in Willison Park that said Sripraphai was opening there. Does anyone know if it's related to the one in Queens? Either way, it fills a niche.

Port Washington: Good chow near Landmark on Main Street?

Ayhan's fish kebab
Address: 286 Main St, Port Washington, NY, 11050
Very pretty place.
Good fish

Best Thai in Huntington?

Looking for Thai in that area, or west. Thanks.

H on the Harbor in PW: Catered affair?

Looking to have a small BM for DS. Anyone had the food? How's the presentation? Is the place too "girly?" It looks pretty red from the pix.

Best Indian lunch buffets in Hicksville?

Going in the middle of the week. Would like a place that has much variety and taste at lunch.

Joes Ginger

Well everytime I go to Joes, it's too crowded, so we end up at Joe's Ginger. So while I can't compare them, I was happy with the food at Ginger. I'm told the soup dumplings may not be as good, but we had decent chicken dishes.

The Nevele

You might want to try the place next door to Nevele, Honor's Haven. The food there is much better than the N, but not exactly sure if you'd call it Hound worthy. Those places have an eerie feel to them right now, like they're one step in the grave. Sad.

Vatan any good?

I heard they renovated the place. It was kind of romantic before, is it still that way? And, how's the food? Thanks.

Bucks County recommendations?

Sorry, New Hope, and on the other side, Lambertsville, Stockton.

Bucks County recommendations?

Hi, I'll be there next week. What can you recommend? Romantic would be nice. Not too pricey, or funky would also be great. Thanks!

Thai near US Open?

Any recommendations, other than Sripraphai, which will be closed on Wed? Names, addresses, and even directions from the open would help. Are the places walkable? Thanks!
