Your favorite place for steak in the Bay Area?

I loooove the steak at Alexander's in Cupertino. I haven't been there in a while but the last time I had a steak there it was to die for.

ad hoc Monday night

Personally, I didn't like the TKO's. However, I LOVED the pistachio macarons. I love french macarons.

Food Suggestions for this weekend, HELP!

Hello Chicago Chowhouds,

I will be visiting the Chicago (specifically Arlington Heights) area and need food suggestions for Saturday.

I'm not sure where Arlington Heights is to Chicago downtown, but I'll have a car, so I'm willing to drive.

I will be flying in on Friday and eating at Avec for dinner- Unless someone suggests not to...

However, I need a breakfast and lunch spot for Saturday. Breakfast can be anything and anywhere. If there is a fantastic brunch spot I'm open to that as well.

As for lunch- if there was ONE place to eat at which spot is it? My preferences are non asian (I live in the Bay Area), approx $30 a person is fine a little bit more is ok too and I'm leaning towards french/American Cuisine.

Lastly, I'm in town for a conference and we're being provided dinner at the Science Museum, but if I should eat lightly there and go somewhere else to eat, any suggestions?

Thank you in advance!

I signed up for the email and if I'm lucky, I get an email from them once every 2-3 weeks? I don't get it daily. bummer!

Ubuntu, Redd, ad hoc...recommendations

I ate at Redd last month and I recommend that you get the Chef's Tasting Menu. I went there with my friend and each person got 5 different courses, so we ended up with 10 courses. I really enjoyed the quail when I was there, and suggest that you don't order the veal meatballs if you go a la carte. I thought they were extremely dense and overwhelming.

I enjoyed Ad Hoc a lot, I think it's fun if you go with a lot of people. If you finish what they bring out, they usually ask if you would like seconds. Which is awesome!

Looking For Suggesstions For 1/2 Year Anniversary

I agree! Pizza Antica is a good place, it's actually pretty good. I like to get the piadini with my salad, but beware- you will ooze of garlic for the rest of the night...

Looking For Suggesstions For 1/2 Year Anniversary

When I was in high school I was obsessed with the Cheescake Factory because it was only in SF at the time (I live in SJ)...

You should take her to a restaurant at Santana Row (because it's hip and the cool thing to do)... Go to Yankee Pier... It's not super but their lobster rolls are good. Plus you can take a stroll down the streets and hang out while you wait for dinner. AND you can go to Cocola's for dessert afterwards. That'll impress her.
