Bessingers (Thomas on Highway 17 south) is much better than sweatmans
sweatmans is a waste of time/gas/ money

I went to school and lived in charleston.
Both of these restaraunts are weak examples of true charleston/low country fare
Save your money and head to the Tomato Shed Cafe on Johns Island or rosebank farms cafe on seabrook islland.

Jack Stack is one of top BBQ rest I have visited.
Had BBQ in Carolinas, Memphis, Texas, every top BBQ in KC
Simply put, this is top shelf.

Not worth the trip, drive by and find another establishment
