Mother kicked out of restaurant for changing baby's diaper at table.

Holy CRAP. Yeah that mom is rather ignorant. I would have complained and in fact left the restaurant.

Pantry storage: flour, sugar, etc.

I have used the Tupperware round canisters for years. I don't keep them on the counter - they stay in a cabinet. Yes - totally ant-proof.

Your Top 5 Trader Joe's Products? [OLD]

Oh the pizza sauce is absolutely a favorite of mine. And my mom's as well. I always have 2 or 3 jars of it on hand!

Convince me I didn't cook undercooked chicken.

"To me, dry = cooked."

Properly cooked chicken is always moist. Dry means it is overcooked.

I think it was the Tomato Basil version. It really was very thin and not very good. I love PNO Sockerooni!

You know I just tried that marinara sauce this past weekend and I was really disappointed. It was very thin and not much flavor. One of the only things I have ever been disappointed with from TJ's.

cast iron pans are great - REALLY????

Weird. I fry bacon in mine ALL the time. I never have anything stick to the bottom of the pan. Sounds like your pan really isn't seasoned properly.

Breville toaster oven what size?

I just wipe mine out. I have always cleaned it, from the start, so I never got any film on it. Mine is shiny clean. Maybe you should use a brillo pad?

Why are chicken breasts so HUGE?

Again, I don't see the problem. Take a cleaver and cut the breast right in half, not making it thinner...just chop it from the top...in half. Stuff that. Problem solved. I've done this for YEARS.

My second question would be....why not save (or freeze) your leftovers? My gosh, if I expected to eat every morsel of everything that I cooked, I would be 300 pounds. :-)

Am I the only person on the planet that doesn't "get" Trader Joe's?

This! Yes, specialty items, exactly. I have a list of certain things that I always go for. But most times I go, I try something new, and that gets added to my list!!

Must be. I love the place. Much less inexpensive that normal grocery stores, and they have such great frozen dishes and baking mixes and pizza sauce....and everything. Awesome awesome store.

Corn on the cob TOO sweet!

Oh HELL no. I love love LOVE sweet corn. I could eat it until it'scoming out of my ears! I can eat it right in the field, and have done so many times. Add butter salt and pepper...lots or pepper, and it's dish for a king!

Nope. That's why I don't eat out very often!!

Why are chicken breasts so HUGE?

What a funny post. Why is a large size an issue? Just cut the breast in half! I freeze my chicken breasts, take out 2 or 3 at a time to cook, and then eat from that all week. Not sure why the size would be a problem for anyone. Weird.

Canned Biscuit Dough for Cake Donuts?

Too funny. Wnen I was little, there was a canned dough for donuts that my mom used ALL the time...she dropped them in the deep fryer and then topped them with the glaze. They were amazing (but not a "cake" type of donut). She said it tasted pretty much exactly like biscuit dough did...just packaged differently.

I'd love to do more with the beef...that sounds really awesome. I've never tried doing a stir fry...but gosh that sounds good. I might even try that tonight if I can find a good cut of meat at the store.

Well I have a crockpot, but I can't count on them being home when it's done (to at least turn it off!). I love using the crockpot though...it just has to be a night where I am going to be home. I might revist some crockpot recipes though...thanks!

"But, why not just make a batch of the stuff you make that they like?"

Because frankly, most of the stuff that I make, takes a LOT of time. I want easier/quicker dishes...that still taste good. :-)

Yeah I make a hellava chicken and rice soup, and tortilla soup, and chili, but somehow I just never want to make that stuff in the summer.

Actually, they "fend for themselves" most of the time, already. :-) I'm not looking to have a hot home-cooked meal 3 times a day, beleive me. My son can cook a mean breakast, and he does, and he takes care of his own lunch as well. I would just like to provide a couple of good meals a week that they can heat up.

I love to cook...I really do. But during the week I have a very limited amount of time, and I like to hit the gym after work, so I often don't get home until 9 or 10. To try and come home and make dinner every night, well, I just can't do that anymore. My son (his friend from college lives right across the street and he is like my 2nd son!) is perfectly capable of cooking something easy, but I know he loves my cooking. I'd like to find a few really hearty/yummy recipes that I can make and freeze, or at least stick in the fridge, and then they have good home-cooked meals when they get the hungries (which is, let's face it, 24/7. :-))

As an example, I made this the other night. It lasted 3 nights, and they LOVED it.
http://www.epicurious.com/recipes/foo...

I also keep seasoned grilled chicken frozen in containers, and then move them to the fridge so that they can add chicken to those steam bags of veggies. They also love the Voila frozen dinners - but each boy can eat ONE for dinner!!

Any other suggestions? Hoping for something different, and not terribly time consuming?

Looking for Replacement for George Foreman grill with removable plates

I also tire of the cleaning effort. And eventually, the nonstick starts peeling off. I just threw out my third GF grill...and I was going to look for something else that would clean up easier, but I swear, for $18, I decided that it's not worth fussing over. I just bought a new one. I use mine about twice a week, so it's worth it even if it only lasts a year.

Breville toaster oven what size?

I didn't realize Breville had 3 sizes...there were only 2 when I bought mine. I got the smaller one because the larger one was just way too big! I didn't want that much counter space taken up. I love my Breville...it is SO much better than the old Krups that I had (lightening knocked out that one - thank goodness!). I use it for so many things...anything small enough to bake in there, instead of the oven.

3qt cast iron dutch oven - useful or no?

I wouldn't part with the others - I love them. One is a 5 qt, and one is a beautiful white oval 6 qt. They are staying. :-)
And no, they don't have legs. But I do have 2 camping DO's, with legs. I don't use them except for camping...the legs are a pain in the oven.
