Thanks for the suggestions! I went ahead and made a reservation at Cafe Boulud, but of course nothing is set in stone at this point. The reviews online are all over the place.
If there were a favorite place with locals, more casual but consistently excellent food and service, that might be the way to go. Any suggestions along those lines much appreciated!

Will be staying at the Ritz-Carlton in West Palm Beach and taking business colleagues from Brazil and the UK to dinner one night. Would certainly like to leave the hotel and take our guests somewhere unique, with high-quality dishes and wine list, but hopefully no more than 10 or 15 miles away. High quality dishes and good service are important, as is a nice but not terribly noisy atmosphere. Any recommendations?

I will be in Amsterdam for one night (in April, a Thurs) and am told the Indonesian restaurants are very good. Is Sabo Seba a good option? Will be dining alone so no need for a scene really -- good hole in the wall place would be great.

Boyfriend's bro is in town after spending a couple of weeks in Tokyo. He is all about tasting the best sushi in NYC. Of course there is Nobu but wondering how the competition stacks up. Any thoughts?

I am organizing a dinner for about 8 women (in our early 30's) to celebrate a friend's upcoming wedding. Most diners are coming from out of town, so I'd like the dinner to be memorable, and the bride is a definite foodie. Dinner will take place about 4 wks from now. Downtown would be ideal. Looking for entrees in the $22-30 dollar range. A good wine list would be great too. And also, if anyone has suggestions for a cool bar to hit up after dinner, I'd appreciate hearing your thoughts. Scotch maybe?
