Issues with login, reply to thread

Just double checked, yup, hitting tab after password takes the focus to the forgot password link. I'm used to it going to the login/ok button. Should be an easy fix.

Oops, I just realized this thread title looks like I'm demanding a response. Should have said 'Issues with logging in, and with replying to threads.'

My bad.

Issues with login, reply to thread

IE9. My login cookie expired, so I went to login today. I typed my name, hit tab (to move to password field), typed my password, hit enter, and was prompted to enter my email address to reset password. Hitting enter should submit the form, not activate the 'forgot password' button.

I also don't see a reply button at the bottom of threads, only the top. That can't be on purpose, can it??

Is there a best instant mashed potatoes?

Potato Buds used to be the best, but they switched to flakes which aren't near as good. Now, the only game in town is Idaho Spuds, and make sure to get the 'bits,' not the flake variety.

Hash House A Go Go @ Mohegan Sun

Great post, thanks SLL.

We're staying there on June 12th and might have to check it out. We'd planned on doing the revamped (well, a year or two ago, but we've only had it once since then) breakfast buffet, but you have us thinking twice.

Cringeworthy dishes by people who think they are terrific cooks...

"sous vide rabbit leg topped with a pea mousse, pickled vegetables and a foie gras sauce"

Sounds hideous, I hope the main course was real food.

Taco Bell Pre-90s Was Good - Do You Notice the Difference Now?

Buy Taco Bell and restore the quality and flavors?

Who's going to pay for the higher quality?

The customer, that's who. Taco Bell is cheap, fast food. You seem to be on a crusade to double their prices or something.

It is what it is, and it's good enough for a lot of people. I'm sorry it's not to your liking, but that doesn't mean it's bad food, and it doesn't mean you need to try to change it. There are plenty of upmarket texmex options if you want to spend more.

Agua Fresca in CT?

Sorry I can't say for sure, but it seems like the kind of thing they might have at Fire and Spice on Sisson Ave in Hartford. Maybe call and ask?

Best place to find fresh linguica or chourico in Hartford CT area?

Get your butt to Solmar Fish Market on Park Street. Walk a block or so to La Estrella while you're in the area, they have great bread.

Copper Beech Inn, Connecticut

Unless the new chefs are so out of touch that they reached back to 1994 and completely ignored the local movement, that menu cannot possibly be current.

J. Timothy's Taverne, Plainville, CT

Might be good individuals or small groups, but whatever you do, don't hold a function there. The buffet stuff is rather poor. Bagged salad, pink chicken, soggy tortellini.

Where's My Bloody Burger?

I don't care how trendy medium rare is, I think the texture is crap. Well done for me, please.

CNBC Reports Mc Donalds now offers "egg whites only" for Breakfast Sandwiches

They use turmeric. Nothing weird about that.

What yellow dye? Are you talking about the turmeric in the folded eggs? Just order a regular round egg if you don't like it.

Wayback Burgers Old Saybrook

Tried it in West Hartford. Burger just ok, and the onion rings and fries were soggy. No thanks, I'll take Five Guys over Wayback.

Favorite crackers to serve with cheese

Triscuits and Stoned Wheat Thins are the best in my opinion.

Head over to Black Bamboo in West Hartford, best American Chinese I've found yet.

Servers and bartenders that smoke

Me opening a restaurant that allows smoking doesn't affect your health either - you can choose not to go there, and people can choose not to work there.

Servers and bartenders that smoke

Sounds like you'd support reinstatement of alcohol prohibition, too. Good luck with that.

Servers and bartenders that smoke

What are the odds that every single whiner in this thread uses unscented soap and deodorant, wears no perfume/cologne, washes their clothes with unscented detergent, etc?

Slim to none. Get off the high horses, people, you stink too.

Peppadew peppers -- the best peppers ever?

Careful, you might get sued. The owners of the trademark are real jerks about that sort of thing, which is why they'll never see one cent from me.

Virgil's BBQ coming to Mohegan Sun

Not sure when you saw Bubba's packed. I never saw more than a handful of tables in there. Maybe concert nights they were busy, but every time I've been there (and I go to Mohegan a lot) the place was dead.

How do you nicely tell a server that they have severely bad breath?

"and the only (way) to get service was to bribe the employees"

Almost sounds like tipping ;)

Taco Bell Pre-90s Was Good - Do You Notice the Difference Now?

Heh, where have you been? Beef in Europe has been turning up with traces of horse DNA for a while now. Really has nothing to do with Taco Bell at all.

I'm an idiot-bad judgment in the kitchen

Try rubbing something made of stainless steel on the inside of your mouth? Might be too late for that, though..

Thanks for the thoughtful review. I saw the Courant writeup and meant to get down there, but I think I'll hold off a bit.

Why do foodies like the McD's Filet o' Fish?

Yeah, but it comes in a cup. The regular FoF sauce is:

Tartar Sauce:
Soybean oil, pickle relish [diced pickles, vinegar, salt, capers, xanthan gum, potassium sorbate (preservative), calcium chloride, spice extractives, polysorbate 80],
egg yolks, water, onions, distilled vinegar, sugar, spice, salt, xanthan gum, potassium sorbate (preservative), parsley.
CONTAINS: EGG.

The McBites come with this stuff:

Tartar Sauce Cup:
Soybean Oil, Dill Relish (Diced Pickles, Water, Salt, Vinegar, Capers, Xanthan Gum, Calcium Chloride, Potassium Sorbate [Preservative], Spice Extracts With
Polysorbate 80), Water, Egg Yolks, Distilled Vinegar, Contains 1% or Less: Sugar, Salt, Mustard Flour, Sodium Benzoate and Potassium Sorbate (Preservatives),
Xanthan Gum, Natural Flavor (Botanical Source), Sea Salt, Calcium Disodium EDTA (to protect flavor).
CONTAINS: EGG.

Kinda different.
