Great new farm to table restaurant in Briarcliff called Good Food
Good Food opened in Briarcliff a fewmonths ago. I have been there half a dozen times, and each time am very impressed with the quality of the food. As for value for money, it is a real deal! You can get a dinner crepe for under $10.
It's a tiny place with seating for only about 16 people. You order from chef/owner John Chambal, he cooks the food and delivers it to the table, all in under 10 minutes. Some days his wife and kids are there helping out in this family-owned and run restaurant.
While they specialize in crepes, the menu is growing. They have sandwiches, soups, and great dessert crepes and locally made, delicious ice creams and sorbets.
Good Food is worth the trip to Briarcliff. Give it a try!
Best hot dogs in Westchester
In my youth, I had a favorite hot dog joint, now long since closed. In Tarrytown, NY, there's a relatively new, tiny little hot dog joint called Lubins Links. The place is about 8 feet wide, with no place to sit except sidewalk tables out front, and a small enclosed area outside in the back. However, the great hotdogs make up for that! They have a dozen or more different combos, all with homemade toppings like chili, sauerkraut, and really good spiced roasted onions.
Their soft pretzels are good, hot and fresh from the oven. My favorite lunch is a Lubins link with chili, kraut and onions, plus a soft pretzel, for $5.00 even, including tax!
Restaurant Near Tarrytown Music Hall
There's a new restaurant that truly SHINES, Sweet Grass Grill, 24 Main Street, right across from the Music Hall. I have been there four times since they opened last month. All four meals have been very good. If you like Stone Barns, the good news is the produce and the preparation is very reminiscent of there. The better news is that the prices are a good value. No entrees are above 20$, there are hamburgers for under $10.
The kitchen is small, and the restaurant is new, so service can be slow at times. But once the food comes out, you'll realize it's worth the wait!
