Any place that is worth stopping on the way for lunch?
Where to buy magret de canard/ moulard duck breast in DC/ NoVA?
Whole Foods (on P at least) carries ducks most of the time. Boning out the duck breast is easy and you can comfit the legs....
New Year's Eve Dinner in DC
We had a fantastic NYE dinner and evening at the Tabard Inn (http://www.tabardinn.com/). Dinner was excellent and they had a band upstairs.
Anyone tried Lost Society - U Street Corridor
I think the food is solid steakhouse food and a good price for the quality. The atmosphere is more a nightclub than anything else, if that's the kind of vibe you want it's not a bad place.

Toddler-friendly restaurants in DC

Georgetown/Adams Morgan Dining TONIGHT
You could do Napoleon Bistro & Lounge in Adams Morgan or their sister restaurant

Thanks everyone for your thoughtful suggestions, this has been very helpful.
Catered Rosh Hashanah food?
I am new to the DC area and am looking where I can get GREAT prepared food for the Holiday?
Doesn't have to be kosher.
I am in the Logan circle area but happy to travel for some good food.
Thanks!
Experiences using "Restaurant.com" in the DC Metro Area?
In general I have used restaurant.com coupons often.
In DC the choice of restaurants are limited to a small arryay of new or not great restaurants.
In Virginia and Maryland there are better restaurants in my experience that participate, but as long as you use it following the restriction on the coupon (each one has different restrictions) you should have no problem with them.
Thoughts on my choices for 1 night / 1 day in Austin
The best coffee near campus is Cafe Medici (http://caffemedici.com/index.html)
personally I think there is no comparison between Wink and Parkside, I think Wink is hand's down much better. Why not consider Asti or Fino (www.finoaustin.com)?
Goose Fat
You can get rendered duck fat at Central Market, I don't think they carry goose fat. You can also render it yourself, it's not too much work.
fresh duck breast
I usually get it at Central Market where you can also buy an entire duck makes many meals.
Best King Cakei in Austin?
Sweetish Hills does both the New Orleans style and the French style, I have no idea about the New Orleans one but the French one is fairly authentic and the only Galette des Rois you can find in Austin
Trulucks Restaurant
I have been to the one downtown several times. I like it quite a lot, it is very solid. The service is always very high quality, the fish is always sustainable and quite good, I have never had the meat there.
It is very similar to Eddie V's if you have been, less stuffy, less emphasis on steak also.
the bar area is very lively and they have a pianist most nights.
Prices are mid-high, but a good value for the money in my opinion, professional service is not that common in Austin and you pay for it.

If the certificates are from restaurant.com you can exchange them with an equivalent certificate for another restaurant.com restaurant
Please review restaurant recommendations near downtown Austin conference
I don't have time for a long reply at the moment but two things:
- I would drop Carmelos, I think the place is plain awful, the food , the service, and even the atmosphere
- Ranch 616 is great but not walking distance to the convention center, if this is a distance you are considering, then you are missing some great jems in between
Organic Roma Tomatoes in Austin?
I am not sure Roma tomatoes would be my go-to choice for sauce, but organic ones are everywhere Whole Foods, Central Markets, and you always find them at Vitamin Cottage's Natural Grocer.

Merguez sausage or acceptable substitute?
WholeFoods has merguez sometimes, the guy with the mustache behind the counter can tell you when they have them. I have been able to order them if they didn't have them. These are by far not the best but they are decent.
Which restaurants do you consider 'healthy'?
I rarely see anything really healthy at WF and it drives me crazy. Granted, they have a large selection that includes many vegetables, but everything is too greasy, not cooked in the healthiest way and just not healthy.
