Diet is over and looking to eat in Pittsburg!
We are headed to Pittsburgh this weekend also!
To blow your diet go to the original Hot Dog Shop in Oakland for french fries.
Primanti's for a sandwich
Pamela's for breakfast.
I can use suggestions too!
Food in the Burgh with 2 little kids and 2 parents that love good food!
Going to Pittsburgh this weekend for the holiday and the Phillies/Pirates Game on the 4th. We are traveling with a 5 year old and 7 year old who live on chicken nuggets, burgers and mac and cheese. My husband and I love good food, but realize this trip we can't be snobs.
I went to graduate school 20 years ago at University of Pittsburgh and remember the O, Primanti's, Pamela's.
Where else should we hit?
Which fish place is better? Benkovitz or Wholley's?
I remember a great place in Mount Washington..near the incline stop that had killer hamburgers but the name escapes me now.
Thanks!
Dinner in Bel Air, MD?
I live in the Bel Air area and there is not much independent restaurants to be had here. For good italian you can try Giovannis (in Edgewood on route 40), Scotto's in Bel Air at the Festival Sopping Center (which is more creative Italian). Thats about it. 3 sushi places crept up in the last year or so,..my favorite is Zen16 (which is on Bel Air Road..in the same shopping center as Bed Bath and beyond)...killer sushi. For a chain, I love Bonefish.
A new place opened in Riverside recently..called Bliss. Havent heard too much about it..but supposed ot be more upscale dining. If anyone has been there would love to hear more.
I wish more independent places were here too!
Dinner suggestion near Rice to Riches?
We are headed to NY this weekend from Baltimore and tops on our list is dessert at Rice to Riches. We hear it is to die for. Any suggestions of where to have dinner beforehand? There will be 5 of us, dressed casual (coming from a Yankees game)..we arent interested in going to Lombardis (although we want to do that another time). Looking for a cool place, not terribly expensive. One person in our group is a pretty simple eater (not very adventerous).
Thanks,
Jill
Pam Anderson's Cookbooks?
I recently got this cookbook and it is great! She really has fresh ideas of cooking to lose weight sensibly while enjoying great food. Ive cooked from her book all week..and Im trying to lose a few while my husband can stand to gain a few. He loved the food and ate extra portions that he deserves. Great book!
Best restaurant in Little Italy?
We are always looking for a good restaurant in Little Italy. We love the casual atmosphere of Amicci's (however, you really can't get veal dishes there). My husband is sour on Sabitino's and says it is a tourist trap. Any recommendations for a new favorite for us? We arent looking to spend a mortgage payment on italian food....rather save that for other special occasion places.
