Recs for North End lunch

You guys are great! Coming home for a visit after living in FL for the past 6 years! Just booked a duck tour and wanted to take my son and his girlfriend (who has never been to Boston) for lunch in the North End. Since I haven't been there in so long I figured that I would look for recommendations. The second I went onto the Boston boards I saw recommendations for lunch in the North End. Presto!! Used to love Il Panino and could not think of the name!

Boston-style Chinese Food recipes

Thank you for sharing your recipes. I was thrilled beyond belief to find one for lobster sauce. I made it last night and my family couldnt believe that it looked and tasted just like it should!!!! Now with all of the other recipes we wont feel like we have to gorge ourselves on chinese food on our yearly trek home to Boston and instead concentrate on lobster, clams, pizza, steak tips......Now I just need to order scorpion bowls and learn to make them.

Looking for a restaurant to host a dinner party for 30 in the Derry/Hampstead area

what about Zorvino vineyards in Sandown, NH?

teenager in Miami

I am bringing my teenage son to Miami for a doctors appointment and would like to find a place for dinner that has good portions (big teenage eater) for not a huge amount of money. Not crazy about Asian cuisine but other than that we are open to suggestions. I was thinking someplace in Coconut Grove so we could walk around before or after. He has never been to Miami and I havent been for years! Also, any suggestions for good Cuban and breakfast would be great.

Cape Coral

So funny! I wrote the original post over a year ago! Happy to report we have been living in NW Cape since August and love it!! Our road only has 2 houses on it and that is fine with us. We came from a very rural area so we were used to having to drive a little ways to get to civilization anyway. As far as restaurants go we try to avoid chains like the plague and we have been able to find quite a few we enjoy......there is a little tiny Italian place on Pine Island road in the same plaza as Stevie Tomato's called Little Sicily that we really like. The owner personally greets everyone and his Mom is visible cooking in the kitchen. Love Burt's in Matalacha and Bubba's for huge portions of ribs. El Mambo is great for cuban food and there is a place called Cape Seafood shack across the street from the hospital that has Peruvian food that is really good.

Sunday brunch in Orlando

Does anyone know of any good breakfast buffets in Orlando? We will be there next weekend. We have two 15 year old boys that eat like horses so buffets are great. They would be thrilled with Golden Corral but I was hoping for something nicer than that but not super expensive. Around $20-25 per person.

brunch at Epoch Exeter, NH???

Has anyone tried brunch at Epoch at the Exeter Inn? We were thinking of trying it this Sunday for our anniversary brunch with our family. Last year we went to the Wentworth and loved it but the menu at the epoch seems similiar and is 25 per person cheaper. Of course, the champagne is not included but we could probably order a couple of drinks each and it would still be less expensive.

driving from Boston to Florida

We are traveling with 3 children-2 of them are 14yo and one is 10. they all eat everything. We are not going to have a ton of baggage. We dont want fine dining...just something good and not chain fast food.

driving from Boston to Florida

We will be leaving next Thursday from Lawrence, Ma at 5pm. Looking to stop for dinner around 8pm and breakfast and lunch the next day. If anyone has done this trip before and has any great suggestions as to where to stop that would be great!!!!

Cape Coral

OK! So, we are a family of 4 adults and 3 teenage children. We will be in the Cape Coral/Lehigh Acres areal next week spending time with family and house hunting. We would love to visit some on the water outdoor restaurants that serve raw oysters along with teenager food (burgers, fries, chicken fingers) as well as a place where we can get hispanic food (chicken, rice, beans, etc). Also, anything that is good but not expensive and please not a chain. We like small family owned places.

Throwing a party! Need to stock up on wine. What should we get?

I dont know where you live but there is a great wine store in Hampstead, NH called The Wine Steward. They give case discounts and have an excellent selection of wines that are economical. The owner, Rocco, will allow you to taste before you buy and has a tasting of 5-6 different wines every Saturday. They have a wonderful Italian sparkling called Moscato D'asti that would be great for a party. You can also mix and match cases and get a few different bottles so everyone is happy. Finally, they have a phenomenal cheese selection!!

Where to buy Ice Cream Cake, Nashua

Not in Nashua but StoneCold Creamery on South Willow St. in Manchester does some great ice cream cakes. They have a website where you can look at all the different combinations

wentworth by the sea brunch

Hi! Has anyone done the champagne brunch at the Wentworth by the Sea? We are thinking of going for our anniversary since we love champagne and oysters on the half shell. If you went how formal was the atmosphere? Do they offer a cheaper price for kids? Ours are 10 and 13 and very well behaved but I dont think I want to spend $45 for them.

Where did everyone dine on New Years? Was it great? (merrimack Valley area)

Hey! We had a great New Years Eve dinner! Homemade chinese food at my parents house! Less than a quarter mile from our house so you can drink wine and make it home intact. Once home, homemade apple crisp with Haagen Daz vanilla ice cream and a viewing of Shrek 2. I cant think of a more perfect way to celebrate!

Recommendations for Southern NH, Merrimack Valley, Monadnock, etc.

Charmingfare Farm is great for kids. It is a little zoo set on a farm that has New England animals. This time of year they also have a hayride for children that makes stops along the way in the woods. At each stop they have costumed characters giving out candy. It is in Candia NH. Right near by is an italian restaurant that is great. It is called Pasquales. It is in a little strip mall. The owner is direct from Italy!!

New Orleans with picky teens on a budget

Louisiana pizza kitchen and acme are great and cheap. There is a place right near the french market called Fiorella's. They have good fried chicken and is also very inexpensive. On Bourbon st. in the 900 section there is a cheap diner called the Clover grill. Good for breakfast and hamburgers.

looking for good food in Manchester, Londonderry- Derry , New Hampshire area

We like the Depot steakhouse in Derry. obviously good steaks but i have had good fish as well. Cafe Theresa in Londonderry is great for margaritas and appetizers. Commercial street fishery in Manchester is my absolute favorite right now.
