Luncheon for ladies in Pasadena (Group)
Looking for a place in Pasadena for a luncheon for 10-15 ladies. I am hosting a wedding shower for my closest friend. We do not wish to have the typical shower (not a tea party) but would like to experience delicious food, calm atmosphere, and a brunch or lunch timed event. A private room would be awesome. If anyone has suggestions I'd be grateful!!
Transporting corned beef
Thanks for the great info, applehome. My plan was to pick some up at the deli on my way out of town...so you definitely recommend steaming upon my arrival?
Transporting corned beef
I am going to drive from LA to San Francisco tomorrow, and I am bringing some corned beef with me for a friend. Let's say it takes 6-7 hours...other than packing it in a cooler, does anyone have any transport tips for me?
Anyplace I can chow and listen to a jukebox?
Does this magical combination even exist anywhere---some good food, maybe a cheeseburger and fries, and some good jukebox tunes? I am prepared for the inevitable--if I DO find it, I am going to pay an arm and a leg for song or two. But the nostalgia factor alone is worth it.
I am willing to drive all over LA proper just to find this fix. I don't even care what kind of food they serve!
Semi-hidden Italian restaurant on Silver Lake?
El Caserio WAS the one. Had a lovely dinner on the patio---whole baked white fish stewed with tomatoes, fresh bread and excellent ceviche. I'll definitely go back to try the goat.
They have a vegetarian platter that was kind of meh---pretty bland. A little loud due to the proximity to Silver Lake Blvd, but it's shielded nicely, so it has a nice ambiance nonetheless.
Best high-end restos in Palm Desert/Palm Springs?
We're omnivore chowhounds who will be visiting Palm Desert for a weekend. I'd prefer to find something in Palm Desert, but we're willing to drive a little to get to Palm Springs for great food.
Looking for some place special, to celebrate a serious birthday.
The higher-end, the better....please help!
Semi-hidden Italian restaurant on Silver Lake?
This is driving me crazy---there is an (I think) Italian restaurant on the north side of Silver Lake Boulevard, a bit before Parkman if you're heading toward the reservoir. You'd miss it if you weren't looking for it.
Can anyone share the name, and more importantly, whether it's good?
