Napa & Co, also makes a good tartare
also not sure what is close to you bur Bar Bouchon in Madison CT also had an excellent tartare

i love this place, their crawfish beignets are absoluely delicious for an appetizer.
Their menu changes- last time i had a boneless pork roast with apples and a side of burbon mac n cheese- it was to die for! the steak with chimi churri is excellent, too, as the PP mentioned.

One Saturday night, one Sunday morning in Stamford...
bar rosso is a great place for solo. they have seats at the bar and they also have bar-type seating over looking the dining room where siolo eaters sit. ITs has a great atmosphere.
You can order a few small plates- i recommend lobster polenta, their samplig of moozarella cheese, the veal meatballs and the osso bucco. all delicious.
For breakfast you can hit up the sundance cafe across the street. it has a nice atmosphere with couches, good coffee and free wifi.

Rico's Pizza Stamford CT, a Kinder, Gentler Colony?
just ordered today for lunch. pizza arrived in 25 minutes hot, fresh and damn good. coworkers did sausage, onion, hot oil , mushroom and x cheese- heaven. I did a stinger/onion combo and was extremely satisfied. Like previous poster mentioned, they are a little "stingy" on the toppings when you are ordering more than one. However, although stingy, the pie was perfection. This will be my go-to pizza delivery place. However, when I am looking for dive bar scene I will still hit up Colony...but Ricos is giving them a run for their "take out" money, that is for sure.
Is there a decent restaurant on the CT shore?

Shopping on Rue Do Carmo - Barrio Alto - (Don’t miss Lluvaria Ulysses– for a pair of custom fitted gloves.)
Coffee at Brasileira Café – famous for their coffee and interesting pastries- Biaxa/Chiado Metro stop
Wine tasting at Sala Ogival -Terreiro do Paço- 1100-148 Lisboa. You walk in and you fill out a form and choose from 25 bottles of wine to taste and rate.
In exchange for the ratings and input, the wine tastings are free.
Food/wine shopping at El Cortes ingles - the store is literally IN the Sao Sebastio ,metro station. They have a wonderful supermarket and also a specialty food/wine shop
Shopping on Avienda da Liberdade – the main drag (Louis Vuitton, Prada, etc)
The view from Miradouro de São Pedro de Alcantara - a garden with a panoramic view across the city to St. George's Castle and central Lisbon. Take the Yellow tram up from Av Liberdade to get here.
Restaurants we loved:
Pap Acorda –Barrio Alto - one of the best known hot spots for traditional Portugese ingredients in a unique/funky setting
Doca a Piexe. or Doca6 – Docas (take a cab) - in an area call the “Docas” – which are a recently built line of about 10 restaurants under the red “vasco De Gama” bridge, all with outdoor seating- but these two are the best. They serve Seafood (good for lunch after spending the morning in Belem)
Mezza Luna –Metro Marques de Pombal - fantastic trendy Italian food and it is owned by a man from Long Island.
Bonjardim - Metro Restauradores - very casual- good for lunch - Best roasted chicken on the planet.
Sinal Vermelho – Barrio Alto - Traditional Portugese food in a trendy/eclectic atmosphere
Lisboa A Noite – Barrio Alto - Portugese fare- traditional yet hip
Sacramento- Barrio Alto - chic and open space- cool décor and great food
Notable Bars:
Ritz Four Seasons–have a glass of wine or cocktail at their gorgeous bar (they allow cigar smoking)
Solar do Vinho Porto – The port wine bar I mentioned above
Pavilhao Chines- Chinese pavilion bar. Very kitchy bar with table games. Fun after a dinner out. Great inventive cocktails. You have to knock to get in.
Barrio Alto Hotel - great hotel/location and fantastic drink selection

im very sorry to negate your reply because i am sure you are trying to be h elpful but paradise has some of the worst food in ffld county. yes the view is nice but the food is absolutely terrible. i would not recommend that place for its food to my worst enemy. im sorry again but i just had to mention it.

30th Anniversary Party for Parents
i have been researching an after -work bridal shower for my co-worker and stumbled on a few reasoably priced places
Quattro Pazzi has a $35 pp dinner that is very nice. It is about 25 pp for unlimited wine beer soda etc.
Saltwater Grille also has a nice menu- you can go from $30 pp for family style up to $45 pp for very nice plated dinner. there are options between. liquor was $17 for 2 hours and $7 for each additional hour
other options that were semi reasonable were Aria and Madonia.
Check them all out- and good luck!

agree on the produce @ checkout- but i dont know another store that uses bar codes
hard to find what you want- i feel like the organization of products is a tad confusing.
- ie- instead of organic pretzels in one aisle and regular arnold pretzels in another- how about just a pretzel aisle with all varities- know what i mean?
i think the meat/poultry is over priced for the most part, with the exception of the occasional bonelss chicken and whole filets
the prepared butcher items that look appetizing in the glass ..ie - stuffed pork chops- the stuffing was super bland no flavor AT ALL - and the stuffed veal was 100% fat- no meat . we blew $18 on that and will never do it again
the fish is a tad over priced. ive been sticking with new wave for fish.
too much staff. never thought i would say that but i feel like every friggin time i need to grab produce or anything- there is always someone re-stocking and i have to ask them nicely to please move. its a weird complaint but it just bugs me. also i see a lot of the staff stanfing around in the aisles bs'in with each other. i have to interrupts them to ask a question.
