Love tampopo don at Tampopo, fried pork cutlet with rice, broccoli, carrot, and mildly spicy sauce.

Maw Maw's (or something like that) red velvet cake - but the recipe that stuck was for the frosting, which involved a lot of cornstarch, and boiling milk and butter and MAN was it just about perfect on a RV cake.
Needed: A fabulous bone-in pork chop recipe, please!

Don't be put off by the comments, many must be from folks who did not read the accompanying article. The recipe is an old family one, from an article about home cooking. They're great.
Maria y Ricardo's New Corn Tortillas
Fresh Pond WF has Maria y Ricardo tortillas, several different kinds, regularly.
It's been a pleasure!
And those burger at Kopps! Good lord, they are tasty. I have in-laws in Milwaukee, it is one of my favorite places. Friday fish fries and Usingers for all your wurst needs, makes me hungry just to think about it.
Foods you dread making because they’re time-consuming
real fried chicken
bolognese sauce, and my god, the green lasagne with the balsamella and the sauce, which is possibly the most delicious dish ever but which does take a freaking long time to make
i feel that canning would instil the same oh-I-want-to-do-I-have-to-yes-I-do-oh-its-good-god-I'm-exhausted sense. But I want to, I really do.
Generally scorned products that are madly delicious -- in certain applications
This thread is a great trip down memory lane. I'll add a couple:
Jane's Crazy Mixed Up Salt
Cavender's Greek Seasoning. Ever put that on hot popcorn? Addictive.

My mom used to make a great crockpot dish of beans and ground beef, and it had liquid smoke in it. Whenever I smell it - and yes, I do keep a bottle in the pantry - it reminds me of that tasty dish. It was called something like campfire beans, and it was from the booklet that came with the pot ca. 1970something.
Do you have tried and true pot roast recipe?
The pot roast from Julia Child's The Way to Cook. I think this is it online:

what I make for my husband's b-day: mocha dacquoise. Except I think I'd like raspberry.
First Printer in Harvard Square
We actually ate there last weekend, and still, very loud. Not bad food, but underwhelming. We too had that roasted beet salad to start, and enjoyed it. (Note: it is huge! Order to share if you are having it as a starter.) Then I had a brisket that was amazingly flavorless under its glaze of barbecue sauce, and a bit more chewy than I'd have liked, esp. given how little flavor it had. My husband had a fried oyster po' boy that he seemed to like fine, but didn't rave. I'm not sure we'd go back, there are plenty of other, better options in the Square.
straight onto a roasting pan? Marcella Hazan's Lemon Roasted Chicken
This is possibly the best roast chicken ever, and worth any spattering. For what it is worth, I put mine in a rack these days.
Myers lemons...what should I bake
I made Swedish Lemon Squares recently, using meyer lemon juice instead of regular. They were pronounced not lemony enough by my family! I thnk they missed the tart pucker of regular lemons. I'd save the meyers for a prep where they are used fresh rather than cooked, that relish cited above, or a lovely vinaigrette.
Cambridge Restaurant for Easter Brunch/Lunch with 87 year old Mom
Craigie on Main does an easter brunch. We went to Mother's Day there a few years ago, it was great.
Boston Mangowatch 2012
Not sure what kind they've had on sale at Whole Foods lately - flattish, yellow - but they have been delicious.
Town Diner Anti-Customer Service
Their corned beef hash is exceptional. It is the real deal; not those Dinty Moore dice potatoes in dog-food consistency corned beef that one often sees.
Vegetarian accompaniment to leg of lamb?
Lentil, lentil, lentil! Salad of the teeny le puy ones, perhaps with some walnuts, feta, roasted carrots.
First Printer in Harvard Square
Stopped in one evening about a month ago, looking for dinner ca. 9:15 pm. Turned around and left because it was SO LOUD. All hard surfaces. They had a good crowd, which is good for them, but we didn't feel like shouting.
Irish soda bread from Harvest Restaurant
No, but wow does that bring back memories. It was great!

I recently made this, right from the Chowhound site: http://www.chow.com/recipes/29508-kimchi-and-shrimp-fried-rice
We used brown rice. It was terrific!

East Coast Grill is a slam dunk with kids, of all ages.

We took our son to Rialto at three weeks (OK, that is a pretty quiet time if you just feed them occasionally). The restaurant was lovely, and I give my lovely but rather traditional father-in-law major kudos for staying put while I discreetly breastfeed the bambino in the corner of our booth!
What am I doing with this cheese?
Here's a chicken dish that is quite tasty. I don't know if the Cougar would be too sharp for it, but I don't think you can go that wrong here.

JAPANESE MONTH: WASHOKU: Fish, Meat and Poultry
This is the recipe that got me to this book, it was in Gourmet years ago. I really like these, the sauce makes the difference and turns ordinary burger night into something pleasantly different. I don't serve them on buns, just straight up with rice and a veg.
Help! Any Suggestions for Daughters 16th Birthday Dinner??
Flatbread and candlepin is a great idea. We've been to several parties there. The pizzas are good, the adults can have a beer, and the bowling is, well, bowling!
What do you make in your pressure cooker?
Just seeing this now. Gosh, I love those Most Delicious Cubes, esp. served with the Indian Mashed Potatoes. Now that I am reminded, I may make a double batch this weekend! Truth be told, however, I like them better NOT done in the pressure cooker. It was a long time ago, so I can't recall details, but I may have put too much liquid in. I found them too liquidy, and not quite as Delicious as when just done on the stove. So that has been my go-to method for these since. But that is a recipe that certainly earns its name!
JAPANESE MONTH: WASHOKU: Rice and Noodles
I too thought, who needs a rice cooker? But after the umpteenth time of not watching carefully and cleaning up the boil over, I got one, and am sure glad that I did. It cooks the rice without my paying attention to it, and holds it at done until the rest of the meal (to which I can now pay more attention) is ready.
50th Birthday Dinner?
We had a great meal at Locke-Ober this summer, which is a classic place for a special meal.
