Terramar in Walnut Creek?

Tina,

My husband and I went there (TerraMar, not Gigi) on Saturday night and we both flipped. We had read some mixed reviews on Yelp, but our experience was fabulous. I loved the ambiance - even the place settings and serving dishes were pretty. But the food was AMAZING. It's the kind of place I'd want to go for lunch and then stay for dinner. They serve small plates and several "trios" - food done three ways. One that we tried was scallops - one in a butter-wine sauce, one done ceviche and one wrapped with bacon - all good. My favorite is a toss-up between the poki tuna (served with wantons fried in sesame oil) and the pork tenderloin with goat cheese and stone-fruit compote. When we left, all we could think was, "let's go back tomorrow."

Chocolate hounds- new ones to try

Loyd Auerbach knows EVERYTHING chocolate in the Bay Area (I think he's writing a book?). His website is www.hauntedbychocolate.com. I was at a party recently where he gave a chocolate tasting (like a wine tasting, but better if you're a chocolate lover). He knows all the local chocolatiers and has more information than I could hold in my poor old head. He seems really nice an approachable. I'm sure he'd be happy to offer ideas too.
