Museum cafeterias
Museum of Jewish Heritage in Battery Park has an excellent kosher cafeteria which a great view of the statue of liberty.
Would you eat baconaise? (It is OU certified)
I would try it if I actually liked mayonnaise, which I don't. I bought a few bags of the bacon-flavored popcorn last year, but the kids and wife didn't like it all that much, and i didn't think it was all that great myself. I had a thought of doing a kosher "bacon" themed Mishloach Manot for Purim one year.
Diet Coke - Desperately Seeking Kosher for Passover in LA!
Actually the toronto situation is due to a stringency of the COR rabbinate in Canada. The Diet Coke sweetener certified in the USA is exactly the same Kitniyot based sweetener. The OU's position is that this Kitniyot is chemically altered enough that it is fine for Ashkenazim on Pesach.
Kosher Food in Boston - delivery to a non-kosher restaurant
Milk street cafe will do it as well
Best New York shopping for Kosher l'Pesach kitniyot
Amalya on Main Street in Kew Gardens Hills, right next door to Naomi's Pizza. I've bought a lot of kitniyot stuff from them in previous years, including Chumus, Corn noodles, rice, and other stuff.
Shmurah Matzo Recommendations -- It's that time of the year...
Off topic - but for those in Israel I highly recommend the Rav Machfoud hard shmura matzas. He also makes the soft shmura as well which I will try this year to compare to the American soft matza we had in previous years. The really good soft matza is baked in homes mostly by the teimanim.
Kosher restaurants in Buenos Aires
Check on Avenue Puerredon the jewish area is around there and many kosher restaurants on that avenue. Also you should check shamash.org kosher restaurant database.
Kosher sandwiches at NYC airports
JFK Airport has several food stores that have pre-packaged Kosher sandwiches and salads. I've seen it at the terminal for El Al and the Delta terminal. It's been a big help when I'm flying out as I know I can head straight from the city to the airport and get a sandwich in the terminal before I board my flight.
No Dannon for Pesach???????
I'm surprised, I used to buy several trays of the Dannon KFP yogurts, and I used to see them sell out pretty fast. They were especially good for Erev Pesach when you can't eat anything else. What does Dannon mean that they were not selling enough of them? Were their sales lower for the Pesach run? Were they the same as usual, therefore not enough of a sales increase to justify the cost of the special Passover run?
Lindt Chocolates
Until 10 years ago all hechsherim accepted that as the way to make a dairy chocolate line into pareve. So the European hechsherim are just continuing the old standard that everyone had until the American hechsherim decided that that was not good enough. This happened around the same time that Stella Doros almost went dairy, and Hershey's special dark became dairy. Most large chocolate manufacturers were not willing to risk ruining their equipment by running boiling water through it.
What Brand of Rosewater do You Use?
I had bought once rosewater that was product of Iran and it actually had a hechsher on it. I think it was the K with the map of the USA. Not sure exactly how the mashgiach supervises that one.
Other times I've used sadaf with a hechsher, but I found the best one was usually the Cortas rosewater from Lebanon. Check with the chof-k to see which rosewaters are acceptable as they certify the Persian restaurant Colbeh in Manhattan, and they definitely use rosewater in their dishes.
Sheep's head for Rosh Hashana
In previous years I've made "Tongue in Cheek" for my head siman. See the recipe here:

hermolis
I had their business class food many years back flying from Hong Kong on Cathay Pacific. When I called to order my kosher meal, the agent asked me "Would you like the lamb or the duck?". It was actually very good.
Are you making a dairy meal for shavuos?
If he has meat at night, he won't be able to eat all the cheesecakes that they have in Shul.
Kosher in a non-kosher cruise or hotel - is it even possible?
If you are visiting Israel, combine your vacation to Israel with a Mediterranean cruise. There are very reasonably priced Sun-Thurs cruises, that are completely kosher for the entire ship. They stop at Crete and other Greek islands, and used to stop in Turkey also.
kavod or Le Chateaubriand in Paris
I was at Le Kavod in December and was very unimpressed with service and food.
Kosher Marshmellows- "Regular" National Brands- The Final Kosher Frontier??
That's because Elyon is the only one that uses beef-based gelatin. The other brands use either Fish gelatin or Agar-Agar seaweed.
kosher certified murray's chickens at fairway-whole chicken $1.79/lb!
Looks like competition is working here - Paramus Wholefoods advertised a sale this week of Kosher Valley OU chicken for $1.79lb.
Kashering my oven grates (Chow..plz don't move this thread)
BTW, according the manual of my electric oven, it says that leaving the grates in the oven for the self-clean cycle will cause the finish on the grates to be burned off, so the grates will no longer pull in and out smoothly from the oven. Not the worst thing in the world to happen to the grates, but there is that downside to kashering them in the oven's self-clean mode.
kosher tomato paste in a tube--does it exist?
Just curious - what is your reason to reduce canned good purchases? If the goal is saving money, you won't be saving money by buying imported tubes of tomato paste at Fairway. If the goal is the environment, cans are pretty easy to be recycled.
Pesachdik Liquor
There's also the Tio Pepe Sherry, that is definitely different than the average wine.
Kosher for Pesach bakery in or near NJ Metrowest area?
There a kosher bakery in West Orange, right next to Chopstix - the West Orange Bake Shop on Pleasant Valley Way, they may be doing Passover cakes.
Passover Oil
Last year I saw Palm oil imported from Israel, however it was very "clumpy" at the bottom of the jar, so I didn't buy it.
ISO Kitniyot in NYC
Maybe, maybe, Zion Market on First ave and 75th. But I haven't been there in ages so can't say for sure.
Fish in Sephardi red sauce served cold
I saw one brand in the supermarket had a "Moroccan Fish 'Meatballs'" in a jar similar to the Gefilte Fish jars for Pesach.
Can't find Heinz Red Wine vinegar for Pesach
I prefer the Heinz version, I know there are other brands available.
ISO Kitniyot in NYC
Amalya grocery on Main Street in Queens, right next door to Naomi's Pizza. They have a large selection every year. I even bought corn noodles last year.
Can't find Heinz Red Wine vinegar for Pesach
I have looked in at least 5 different supermarkets and I am not able to find Heinz's Red Wine vinegar with the OU-P for Pesach. In previous years this used to be available all year round. Right now, in the couple of supermarkets that even had the Heinz Red Wine vinegar, it was only OU, and not the Pesach version.
Has anyone seen it in Bergen County NJ?
