I need to find fresh Quail Eggs! (hollywood, willing to travel)

There's always the 99 Ranch Market. Find the nearest one to you:

But basically almost every Asian supermarket has them =d

Uni Recipes?

This was kind of bland for me, maybe the pepper flakes would've made a difference but, alas, I didn't have any. I did, however, mixed in some of the wasabi that came with the uni and it's not too bad. Maybe I'll try another batch with lemon juice =d

And after eating this, I realized that I really do prefer my uni raw.

All you can eat sushi

Personally, I like Fuji in Pasadena. They're one of the rare places that DON'T have the 1hr time limit. I also like them because they have a wider selection of hot foods, like fried oysters =d Definately try their white tuna if you go =d ($26 for dinner and it comes with dessert =D)

My bf likes Sushiya, also in Pasadena, a little more. The fish is a little fresher there, since so many people go to that one. ($26 for dinner and a 1hr time limit but I've never been scolded for being there for 1hr 1/2)

New member needs recommendations

I like Bubba Gump on Citywalk for their Shrimp New Orleans =d If you're going to take the Redline, try the Pantry www.pantrycafe.com, it should be open 24/7. And when you go to Roscoe's, make sure you don't go to the Pasadena one.

If you're going to be on Hollywood Blvd., Shelly's Cafe has a mean philly cheesesteak, Beard Papa's is good for a cream puff, Baja Hollywood in the Hollywood&Highland has really good fish tacos and that Mexican and Chinese (great lunch specials) restaurant at the plaza of La Brea and Hollywood Blvd is very good too.

Visiting LA with 6 year old who loves sushi

If you're staying around LAX, there's this great lil all you can eat Mongolian BBQ place in Manhattan Beach.

If you're going to Pasadena, I'd say skip A'float and head to either Fuji or Sushiya instead. I've heard better things about them and it's all you can eat for $26 (dinner price). Sushiya boasts a 1hr time limit but they've never said anything to me and I usually eat for 1 1/2 - 2hrs. Personally, I like Fuji better because it's less crowded and they have more hot plates (fried oysters included =d). Last time, Sushiya kept on telling me that half of their hot items weren't available =((( but their sushi is a lil fresher.

Non-Asian in or around South Pasadena?

There's always A Taste of Brazil (4840 Huntington Dr) in El Sereno, I've heard good things about it.

And does Filipino food count as Asian food, it's more Pacific Islander... Barrio Fiesta in Eagle Rock is extremely greasy but oh so good =d Their beef shine with veggies and sigsig are VERY good and make sure you get the garlic rice, they give you a lot more than the plain white rice for only a lil more. Those plates will run you a lil over $10 each but you could probably feed 3 people with each plate.

Or just run around El Sereno/Highland Park/Eagle Rock and check out all the taco trucks. One of my favorites is the one on N. Huntington Drive and Maycrest...I think it is. They have really good cow head and the carne asada is a bit crunchy, which I like =d

Wait...has no one mentioned the Pasadena Sandwich Company yet??? I think their best meats are their roasted pork, roast beef, and turkey =d
