Great Food near Ground Zero

I was thinking about Blue Smoke...also Forgione? Thoughts?

Great Food near Ground Zero

Heading to NYC from Toronto on the weekend of Jne 23-24. We are a group of 13 ranging in age from 6 to 77. We have reservations for the Ground Zero tour on Friday evening at 7:00 and would like to go out nearby for a nice dinner. Cost and food type are not an issue. Probably Italian is best though, as we are heading to STK on Saturday, but all ciusines will be considered. Only issue is the place must not be a dive...must be somewhat upscale.
Please help!!!

Patio Dining

Heading out tonight with some old friends.and looking for a great patio. Food type and cost not a real issue...ideally located between Eglointon and King......Jarvis and Dufferin. Was thinking maybe Terroni on Queen or Harbord Room.
Thanks in advance for assitance.

Best Roast Chicken

Staying in the 6th with my wife who is a very picky eater. Little dairy, no fish, no meat, only salad and chicken. Where/what is the best restaurant for great roast chicken to keep her happy?
Thanks in advance,
Robb

Your favorite fresch-cut french-fries?

Burger Shack on Eglinton and Old Yorke F & C on Laird...2 of the best.

Looking for great fish dishes

Sit at the bar at Senhor Antonio....tapas bar of Chiado...can't go wrong.

Trio or Ferraro, Saturday Night.

My original reply was based on the Davwud's request for an opinion for him/her/, his/her sister and SO. I only said to avoid it (like the plague) when not with children..I stand by my answer. I did not make a blanket statement, I made a very accurate one, which was not out of context. With repect to kneading the dough " a la minute" vs 3 hours earlier..the "a la minute" is much better..."nuff said!

Trio or Ferraro, Saturday Night.

Chill Magic,
Watch how Joe makes a pizza at Ferraro and then go to Terroni or Libretto. Ferraros dough is already flattened, and not actually kneeded, tossed, and flattened "al a minute"....great for the whole family..been with mine about 50 times..however, would definetely not recomend going for an evening out.

Trio or Ferraro, Saturday Night.

Ferraro only when the liitle kids are in tow...otherwise avoid it like the plague. All food is par cooked so it arrives within minutes of ordering. Order, eat, get the cheque..in and out in 30 minutes on a slow night.

N44 - Huge rating downgrade!!

I have eaten at N44 a number of times including my brother's wedding over 15 years ago, along with the other restaurants in his "empire". Food has always been very expensive, and portions very small The whole place seems to be stuck in the 90"s. I agree about McEwan (the man) above and believe he has "jumped the shark" ina big way. I won't even watch him on Top Chef Canada as I find him so pretetious and arrogant.

Burger's Priest 3rd best according to Zagat

IMHO...Harbord Room is the best burger in the city...comes with great fries and a small salad...all for $15.00.

Need Help for One Night Out

Thanks everybody for al the opionions. Been to H-60 baout 1/2 dozen times over the years, and always left somewhat disaponted. Scamouche is not right as I'm looking to bring up the average age...not down. Want to go somewhere newish, and hipper...that's why I was thinking, Ici, Campagnola, Enotica Sociiale, Woodlot, or even Harbord Room, whcih I always enjoy. Maybe Acadia, Ortolan, or Enoteca Ascari...please help!!

Need Help for One Night Out

Once a year, an old work buddy and I (both mid 40's) enjoy a decadent night out. In the past we have been to: Splendido, Nota Bene, Opus, Nyood, Colborne Lane, Provence, Scarpetta, Il Mulino. Both of us have large appetities and cost is irrelevant. I love Harbord room so that is an option. Also thinking about Antari, Enoteca Sociale, Campagnola, Ici....but could use some direction. Probably leaning towards, Steak house, Bistro, or Italian...but open to all suggestions...please help.

Lunch for 30 in Jerusalem

We are heading to Israel for our daughter's Bat Mitzvah in March. We will have a group of about 30 and we are looking for some recomendations that would be great for lunch. Type of food and cost are really not issues, as long as the food is good and the place is nice. A friend recommended Ticho, which looks beautiful on their site. Any reviews would really help.

Thanks in advance,

Robb

Good meatballs

Pusateris has great meatballs in a great tomato sauce.....make sure you get them from the pre-package area near the soups instead of the prepared food counter.

Boys Night Out

We are a group of about 10-15 guys who play a lot of golf together and are planing a season ending dinner. We are between 45 and 55 and price is really not an option. Looking for good food in an eviromnent where we don't have to be too quiet. All food types to be considered, with a location between Ossington and the DVP, the Lakeshore and Sheppard. Thinking maybe upstairs at Paese or Trio, downstairs at Senhor Antonio, side room at the Chan....any other recomendations greatly appreciated.

1 fish-$30.00
1 litre of wine-$70.00
1-dessert to share-$9.00

Total-$286 plus tax-$323 plus tip. Outragious and just not that good

Ciao Fabbrica

Ate twice at Fabbrica last night...frirst and last!! Overall experience was okay as was the food, however price and attitude was outragious. We were 4 in total, two couples. Three of us ordered the roast chicken, however, instead of polenta, we asked for potatos. Waitress said no problem but advised their may be a small surcharge. Finish dinner, ask for the bill and they have charged us eacjh $8.00 plus an additional $1 service charge. Total $27.00 to repalce polenta with 4 small roasted new potatoes each. With wine bill comes to $320.00. obscene for what we ate. Call the waitress over, politely explain our disaitsfaction, and she sends the manger over. He says he can remove the $1 service charge but the $8.00 each stands. We thank him and advise him he has lost our buiness forever. I will never set foot in another Mcewan establishment agian.
