Old school Cantonese in Queens? Some years ago I was told that there is still an old school Chinese restaurant in Queens, I believe on Union Turnpike near Utopia Pkwy. Can anyone refresh my memory? I'd really appreciate it. I'll be visiting from oout of town and this former Queens boy would love to revisit this food from my youth ! |

Long Beach to Hollywood - Breakfast Please help me find the best breakfast Chowhounders can recommend. It has to be a place that opens early. I have to drop a friend off at LB airport at 6am, then I have to be at work in Hollywood by 9. Thank you all in advance ! |

We love the carnitas at Vallarta Market in Newhall. Does anyone know of a Latin/Spanish/Mexican Market near Hollywood that also makes carnitas. Where else near Hollywood would you think I can find them? ----- |

Old School Red Sauce Italian on the Westside I will go anywhere you ever recommend because of the American Beauty cover. Maybe I'll find direction around some corner where it's been waiting to meet me. |

Old School Red Sauce Italian on the Westside Baked Ziti, Meatballs, Clams Oregenato, Chicken Cacciatore. Where could I enjoy these old-timey dishes from West Hollywood to Culver City, Bev Hills to Westwood? |

Can you eat anything at Angels Stadium The last time I was at Angels Stadium (years ago), the only food choices were (god forbid) along the lines of Taco Bell and Der Weinershnitzel. Are the choices any better in 2009? If so are they located in specific places in the ballpark. Thanks ahead of time !!! |

Father's Day dinner at Channel Islands Harbor? Has anyone had dinner at any of the seafood restaurants at the Channel Islands Harbor? I've have found some names via Google: Fisherman's House, and H.C. Seafood & Co., and The Lobster Trap, and The Whale's Tail. Would anyone recommend any of the places? What did you enjoy about them? Can you describe the atmosphere...casual? Formal? Fun? But most of all,,,how was the chow? |

ISO - NY style square knishes? No Brent's does not have square knishes. Marty D's are the only ones I've found and I've looked for years. |

Old School Red Sauce Italian in Queens? A buddy and I will be in Queens for 1 day in July and we want to recreate the kind of Italian meal we had as kids in the sixties and seventies. Is there a place in Queens that would foot the bill? Any neighborhood would be fine, and thanks in advance! |

Breakfast..only for one day in NYC Thanks Kathryn, it's no problem for me to go further afield than a 4 train stop. It actually would be a later breakfast than I thought. Got any recs for after 9:30am? |

Our daughter will be graduating from,UCLA, with the ceremony on a Sunday afternoon. Afterwards we would like to take a party of 10-12 people out for a celebratory meal. The style of cuisine is not that important. but the atmosphere is. We would like someplace upbeat, not stodgy. A bonus if there are round tables, rather than rectangles. Better for conversation, you know! |

Breakfast..only for one day in NYC In order to see a game at the original Yankee Stadium for the last time, a friend of mine and I are flying in on a red eye flight from LA and flying out right after the game that starts at 1pm. That leaves only one meal for a couple of middle aged former New Yorkers to actually enjoy. Where should we go for an early morning meal?. Keep in mind we'd need something near a #4 train stop. Thank you in advance for the rec. |
