Near the Franklin stop. Where are some good places to eat? Want to stay in the neighborhood and not venture into Park Slope. Thanks! |

Hello. Looking for a place in Soho (between 6th and Broadway and Houston to Grand) wtih entrees for no more than $15. A casual place where I can sit and catch up wtih a friend. No particular cuisines needed. Thank you. |

Best olive oil to buy in Manhattan? I like the Fairway olive oils too. Use them at home for general cooking and they are reasonbly priced. |

If you walk to 8th avenue, and go up, there are a few good restaurants: Melba's, Zoma and Patisserie des Ambassades. On Adam Clayton Pwl, there's Native and on 116th between Lenox and Adam Claton Pwl, you can find Amy Ruth's. For Chinese takeout, I usually order Ollie's. |

Sat Brunch in theater district Hello, two couples going to brunch before a matinee tomorrow. Don't want to spend a lot but want a nice place with decent food. Ideas? I considered Eatery but want to try something new. Thank you. |

Went to Pera for dinner and didn't like it The portions were small for their price and the food tasted mediocre at best. One of my dishes was even bad. Thoughts on this place? |

Best Unique Dining Experiences Gyu-kaku in Midtown East is fun. It's Japanese bbq and great for parties or just a date. The decor is nice and if you get a seat by the window, you can look down onto 3rd avenue. |

Williamsburg v. Astoria beer garden Which do you prefer? I've only been to the Brooklyn one, which was good albeit kind of pricey. How does the Astoria one compare? Gonna try and head there in the upcoming few weeks in order to plan a birthday party at one of them. |

Chinese take-out in South Harlem, near Columbia? I am sick of Ollie's and am sure I can do better. Suggestions? |

Eloping. Where's the perfect place for dinner to follow? What about the upstairs at 21? It's an old style NYC place, will be there forever and it can feel very special and romantic. The service is great too |

Casual UWS Brunch, 6ppl + baby Arte Cafe might be a good choice. Casual, nice and food is decent for a reasonable price. |

quit my crappy job, lunch near new job (41st/Mad)? If you want to take a walk, Sapporo noodle place is good on 49th and 6th. |

Drinks/small plates near Varick & King St. There's a communal table at En though Chowhound people give it mixed reviews. |

Favorite Chinatown restaurant? We were pretty conservative. He had wonton and I had eggdrop soup. Usual Chinese takeout serves really watery eggdrop but this was thick and super eggy in a good way. Then we split beef with snowpeas and vegetable lowmein. It was just so good. |

Favorite Chinatown restaurant? We decided to just go and choose a restaurant and see what we could find. We chose based on anything that had some kind of Zagat rating. We spent $25 for two people and I enjoyed it so much that I was sad when I got too full to finish my plate. |

Favorite Chinatown restaurant? Boyfriend and I went to Amazing 66 on Sunday. Food was good (though a little salty), the place was busy (in a good way - full but we didn't have to wait for a table), and it seemed clean. Thoughts on the place? Others you'd recommend? |

Academia Di Vino - 63rd and Lex Yes, you're right - on 3rd avenue. They gave us a round table, which faciliated discussion, and the wines were excellent. The food was good and pretty reasonably priced. Boyfriend and I tried a few things and only paid $44 for the two of us. |

I went and thought it was Ok. The tofu was the star and the cod was good as well. Had some eggplant dish and tuna/avocado dish that were so-so. Kind of expensive too. |

Going there tonight and everything looks good. What do you recommend? |

Want to go out for dinner and drinks with a friend after work? Not too pricey and can sit outside. Any suggestions? |

Inexpensive brunch place for 8 people? Hi All. I have friends coming in from out of town and want to take them a great brunch place. Don't want to ask them to spend to much (entrees around 10-15 max) and need a place that takes reservations. I was thinking Josie's on the UWS but am not quite sold on that idea. Any good suggestions? Thank you! |
