group outing

Group outing post should specify Philadelphia area

group outing

For a small reunion of 15-20 people, I'm looking for a restaurant or bar/restaurant that could accomodate us for a Sat. afternoon and provide good food & drinks. It's a suburban crowd, so the northern or western suburbs is what they are used to. Thanks for any ideas.

Bocelli Ch Hill

Had lunch at Bocelli in Chestnut Hill this week. It was perfectly fine. Nicely made dishes, excellent service. It's not high Italian cuisine but they don't aspire to be. The area needs a decent, affordable, basic Italian restaurant and it's there, at the top of the Hill.

ribs in Philly or 'burbs

I'm trying to find local places that serve good barbecue ribs, including takeout joints. There used to be a notable place in the upper end of
Germantown Ave, for example, name unknown. Thanks for any leads..............

coming into LA from.......

Philly, actually, and staying at the LAX Marriott for a 4 day workshop in Dec. With a decent meal allowance, I'm told, I'd be looking for good places for dinner within, say, a $10 cab ride from the hotel. Do any such places, American, Asian or Italian cuisine, exist?
Thanks in advance for any leads. JeffS

main line lunch

Could anyone recommend a place for a weekday lunch in the Bryn Mawr vicinity? Preferably a place that serves drinks and on or near Lancaster Ave. so this PhillyHound doesn't get lost. Thanks.

Apple Cider and Apple Cider Doughnuts

Fahnestock Fruit Farm has an unpasteurized cider that tastes fine to me, just squeezed apples according to the grower. It's available at their stands in the farmer's markets around Philly: Chestnut Hill, Ritt. Square, Clark Park and Roxborough are those that I know of, though on different days of the week. 717 665-7764 is the # on their label.

Petit 4

Thanks for the update. They will be missed . . . that white Bavarian chocolate something-or-other cake, those scones . . . what a bummer.

Petit 4

Anyone have any info about the Petit 4 Pastry Studio on N. 3rd, which has been closed since mid-summer? The dreaded "closed for renovations" sign has been there since August...........

NYer in philly needs recs

Other possibilities include Brasserie Perrier, 1600 bl. Walnut: classier than many, fine food, lively cocktail lounge up front--plus you're in great position to hang out afterwards at spots on/near Rittenhouse Sq. (18th & Walnut), as suggested.
Or Melagrano, 20th (21st?) & Spruce, good Italian food, more informal, still near the Square. Enjoy Philly.
