Any Decent Chocolates In Monmouth Or Ocean Counties ?

Give Van Holten's on Rt 88 in Brick a try, I think they are pretty decent.

Fish! - Asbury Park

we have been there hundreds of times....food always very very good. The homemade dumplings are delicious, the short ribs excellent and the japanese meatloaf was outstanding. I am not a big salmon fan, I like it but's it's not on the top of my list; and as far as sushi, I do agree with you it's okay but then again I don't really order sushi there because I like the other stuff. Desserts are homemade and really good. Sorry you did not enjoy, maybe give it another try.

Daniel's Bistro, Point Pleasant Beach NJ

Love Daniels; but we avoid it in the summer. Time to go back again. Food is delicious; service very good.

Fish! - Asbury Park

We won't be going.....not for mediocre food at those prices. The only thing worth going for in Asbury these days is Taka.

Good restos near Matawan

We live in Wall also but we like this new place in Keyport so much we drive up there regularly. It's pan Asian and it's called Nemo. BYOB, very New York chic and excellent food. Check out their website. You will not be disappointed, trust me!

Nemo - Keyport Sushi-Pan-Asian Cuisine

My husband and me had the pleasure of dining at Nemo again this Saturday evening and the food was absolutely delicious! We started with several appetizers; i.e. steamed dumplings, fried calamari, summer roll and avocado salad. The dumplings were the best I ever had, the fried calamari was fresh and crispy and sooooooo good. The springs rolls melted in your mouth the outer "rice paper skin" so tender and light, yummy! The avocado in the salad was so tasty; often times the avocado is just "meh", but this had the fresh nutty flavor that an avocado should have. The dressing was unique too....light and tasty so good we spooned it until the bowl was wiped clean, LOL!

Now to the main dishes.....my husband had the Wok Grilled garlic shrimp and it was out of his world. The shrimp were HUGE (no pun intended) and cooked to perfection, yum! The veggies all fresh and all done perfectly. I had the Sambal chicken......again done perfectly, no grease, and nice and spicy! Believe me I did not want to share....but I had to since my husband shared with me! Everything was just done right and so fresh!

We also had the pleasure of meeting the chef, Lee who could not have been more gracious. Also again I complimented them on their choice of background music and our waiter, Steven, informed us that he was responsible for putting together the music collection. A very very nice dining experience in every respect. A little "jewel". And the view in the back overlooking Raritan Bay just added to an already delightful evening.

Great breakfast at Mariner's cove in brielle

I have to disagree with you on Mariner's Cove. They throw alot of food at you for cheap prices but I felt the quality and preparation were below standard. Too much food and too little taste. Really good, innovative breakfast at the In Between Cafe in Red Bank, albeit a little pricey, but worth it. French Toast the best I ever tasted and their California Omlette is just absolutely delicious with fresh spinach, fresh avocado, sun dried tomaties and jack cheese. Wonderfully prepared and very tasty.

Top restaurants in Colts Neck/Freehold area?

Sorry, but I hardley thought the Thai food at Manow was good. It was lackluster to say the least. Big disappointment. Have not found any Thai in the area, that does NOT water down the spice...even when you ask them NOT to.

Tacos anyone???

We used to love Mexico Lindo in Brick. The last time we went about six months ago we were hugely disappointed. The place was empty, smelled very musty and the food definitely dropped down considerably. We will never go back.

Salang Kabob House - Toms River

We passed the place last night; should have gone there. Instead we went to the Indian Place down the Road...Armaatran or something like that. Disappointed. Not that great. Tandoori India in Ocean still the best around if you ask me.

Lings Kitchen - Fords, NJ

Where in Fords is Lings going to be? I work at the GSParkway building and am looking for good chinese in the area. Everything else is mediocre

Bayou Cafe

We went to the Bayou about a year ago after the new person took it over, it was terrible and would never go back again, Manasquan and Freehold.

Any good places in Bradley Beach?

Sorry, I disagree with CBO pizza. They used to have the best pizza. Past few times (recent) the pizza is totally soggy, spongy "crust". Would not go back. As far as Bamboo Leaf, again, used to be very very good. Last time we went about a year ago, never went back, terrible. Don't mean to be negative, but that has been our recent experience at both those places.

Any good places in Bradley Beach?

Giamano's in Bradley is very very good. The food is from local markets and they carry all organic meats and poultry, plus organic seasonal veggies. We were there last night had a wonderful organic cuke salad with fresh basil, very light dressing, warm crusty italian bread. For entrees I had a wonderful lobster over capellini, it was delicious. Service was excellent and they did not rush you at all. I would suggest reservations unless you go really early.

Theresa's in Bay Head?

Went to Theresa's in Bay Head this Saturday and was disappointed. Service was not good and food was medicocre. I would not rush back any time soon.

Trinity Restaurant - Keyport

Trinity is at 84 Broad less than a block from Drews, which is at 58 Broad St. Just look for the white chruch. Plenty of parking in the municipal lot just out the door.

BTW - Trinity is not to be missed as it is every bit as good as Drew's.
As indicated in the above comment Keport is on the map with two of the finest restaurants in New Jersey.

Some will say, "Hey it's only a sandwich", but.....

Reading your description on the white house subs I am tempted to blow off work for this afternoon and drive down to AC......sounds great cannot wait to try it.

Theresa's in Bay Head?

I happen to agree with you. While not born and raised in Monmouth, there are more "bad" restaurants than good, hopefully that will change. We went to Bay Head Bistro last year or so, not impressed. I hope Teresa's will be better. As far as Mojave Grill, have not been there but did always hear good things about it. Not enough genuine ethnic in Monmouth County.

Real Barbecue in Central Jersey

No, my suggestion to you is buy a smoker and do it yourself. New Jersey is not known for barbecue, unfortunately, as I love it myself. As far as Big Ed goes, lots of food, little taste. There was a stand down in South Jersey that I read about years ago...don't know if it is still there. Somewhere in Vineland I believe.
Good luck, if you find a place let us know.

Trinity Restaurant - Keyport

My husband and I had an outstanding dinner (and experience) at Trinity Restaurant & Lounge last night. When we arrived we were greeted very cordially by Charles, the owner. Our table was ready and waiting for us. We shared a wonderful salad, the iceberg lettuce with smoked applewood bacon croutons and a spicey chipolte blue cheese dressing--delicious, so much so I was sopping up every little drop of that wonderful dressing with a nice kick to it. The bread rolls that came were just delcious and unusual tasting....not your typical bread rolls. The organic whipped butter was served just the way butter should be served, spreadably soft. For the main course I had the Moroccan chicken that was a Bell & Evans chicken....on the bone. The meat was tender and moist with lovely aromatic spices...delicious! My husband had the prime thick 14 oz. pork chop.... absolutely tender served on the bone. His chop came with a really good mac & cheese number that was so tasty. My entree came with cous couse also very very good. Chef Michael stopped by our table with our dessert (we had the chocolate trinity which consisted of a whiskey bread pudding (served warm), a peppermint chocolate cake and white chocolate bark. A nice taste of everything. Chef Michael introduced himself and told us a little about himself. He was very nice and genuine in his desire to please.

Trinity's ambience was terrific. The restaurant, located in an old church, was tastefully decorated and quite cozy. Everything was immaculate, including the bathroom. The backgound music was lovely. It was a mixed bag that added to the overall dining experience.

Last, but by no means least, the staff was extremely warm and hospitable. Charles, the owner made sure everything was done just right and our server, Elizabeth was attentive but not instusive, very efficient, and very, very nice. At a price point of $97 for two people (including a bottle of wine, exclusive of tip), Trinity is an excellent value. We would highly recommend it and will certainly be returning again.

Has anyone been to Bay Ave Trattoria recently?

The wife and I have been there a half dozen times over the past year and each meal was excellent. This is one of our all time favs. Enjoy it...

Bia Bistro - Ocean Grove

We had an early reservation1 and and left around 7 pm. As we were leaving in our car in front I saw a group of people walking toward the Majestic with one guy in particular "leading the charge" up the stairs. He had dark hair and I believe had on a blue shirt if my memory serves me. I could not help but think at the time, "wait buddy until you try the food in this place" you will love it. Was that you? I had to be around 7 p.m.

Read your analysis and could not agree more. However, unlike you, I really liked the chocolate cake dessert. I also had the arugula salad and my swordfish was absolutely wonderful. I cannot wait to go back again. What I enjoyed too as well as the lovely food was the very nice ambiance and crisp clean, but warm look of the place.

Bia Bistro - Ocean Grove

My husband and I went to Bia last night (2nd time). The food was wonderful! Again, the ambience, service was great. We each had a salad (I had the arugula and he had the ceasar with white anchioves). Both were delicious and very fresh and a nice light touch with the dressings. For the main course I opted for the swordfish again and was not disappointed. The fish was melt in your mouth quality...a nice thick cut and seasoned just perfectly. It came with cous cous and grilled fennel and carrots, which were delicious. My husband had the chilean sea bass, excellent. For dessert we shared the chocolate panache (sp?) cake with fudge sauce and vanilla ice cream. The cake was equisite and melted in your mouth...not too sweet and again, a light touch with the fudge and ice cream. Just delightful in every way.

The staff could not be more cordial in every way. Hotel owner Michael is friendly, helpful and a very warm person. We had the same waiter again, chris, and he was just as attentive and professional as the first time. This is definitely on our "A" list.

Due Amici in Brielle?

We were not impressed; some dishes are fine others are not; I think they are inconsistent. In other words it's okay at best. Nice bar, though,

Lunch in Atlantic Highlands?

I don't know if Copper Canyon serves lunch on weekends, but that's a great place.

dinner recommendations Asbury Park or Long Branch

bgut1, definitely I will try Thyme Sqr. We were a Drew's Bistro last weekend and loved it; plan on hitting Atlantic Bar and Grill possibly next weekend. Yea, I was really disappointed about casa solar, we really liked it. Did not mention another observation, probably most important, that Casa used to get packed by 6 p.m.....well no one was there except us and another couple. And I did hear from an acquaintance who lives in the town and previously owned an italian deli (Tuscany) that Juan "bailed out".

2 New Restos open in Avon

We went to Clementine's when they first opened and have not been back; food was horrible and too salty. Who knows maybe they got their act together. As far as Pagano's we went there way back when they were on the beach.....and again, food was awful. Sauce tasted like it was cooking all year.

dinner recommendations Asbury Park or Long Branch

sorry to say that Casa Solar is off our list; we went there bout two months ago and it must have changed hands, Juan (owner) was gone, tableclothes were gone, and, unfortunately, the food was "gone" too. Meal was terrible. Will not go back. Have not been to Thyme Square, but have been to Dish, Table, and of course Vivas. Like them all.

Chef from Reggio's (Belmar & Toms River)

I think he's at that Italian place in Bradley Beach that used to be Mazi's . My hsuband and I went there last year; truthfully we were not impressed. We did not have tiramisu, however.
