Dosa Hut (suburban South Indian place that is hyper delicious and 40 miles round trip and well worth it.) Tinto, Honey's Sit and Eat in Phila, Vetri in Phila.

My most tattered cookbooks:

Anything by Wolfert, Sartun,Kamman,Lord Krishna's Cuisine and pamphlets touting particular ingredients, cooking utencils and appliances from the 20's - the 80's.
