Orlando Q. Your ideas.

We love Blackwater and Keller's BBQ. Uncle Jones is more soul/southern food (very good though). Sonny's although a chain place is good too but I like to support the smaller establishments.

Orlando-St.Joseph's Day Cake

I've never heard of a St.Joseph's Day cake but... Try Charlies Bakery on Curry Ford or Darland Bakery on South Street.

Universal Studio Grounds.

There are a bunch of places to eat in the park and at Citywalk. I like Margaritaville and Hard Rock. The Hotels surrounding the park have different restaurants in them as well which are easily accessible by the free shuttle boats. I like the pub near the Mummy in Universal Studios for lunch, good corned beef sandwich.

Brueggers Bagles - Altamonte

Has anyone tried the new Bruegger's Bagels in Altamonte Springs? They were here for a few years in Orlando and then one day they just dissappeared. I'm happy Bruegger's is back but haven't been to the new one yet.

Bachelorette weekend in South Beach

La Provence French Bakery - whenever I'm visiting Miami I stop there for breakfast. Its a little french bakery next to Wallgreens on Collins and 16th street great baguettes and their chocolate croissant is excellent.

Chowish eats in Orlando?

Too bad you didn't come during Epcot's Food and Wine Festival. That's a Foodie's Delight! Try Garibaldi's for Mexican on 192.

Chowish eats in Orlando?

The new Whole Foods is on Sand Lake road right off the I-4 exit. Probably about a 15 minute drive east on I-4. I don't know much about Kissimmee but if I were you I'd check out some downtown Orlando locations, great Vietnamese cuisine, excellent thai food, Thornton Park area has plenty of good eateries. Not sure how our seafood will stack up for Bostonians but Cityfish is good. For a late-nite ale and some good sausage rolls try Fox & Hounds on 192 in Kissimmee. Smokey bar though not great for kids.

City Fish - Boca Raton

Is this place run by the same owner of CityFish in Orlando? Because that place has great service not to mention some excellent fish.

REAL Dim Sum in Orlando?

Everything except the Tripe! Yuck.

Good seafood place in Orlando to impress a couple New Englanders?

Downtown in the Thornton Park area is CityFish. The wahoo I had the other nite was out of this world! http://www.cityfishorlando.com/

McCormick & Schmick's has a great inexpensive lunch menu. Their dinners are fabulous. Freshest calamari i've ever had. They are located @ Millenia Mall.

Lee & Ricks Oyster Shack has the best farm raised oysters. Served raw or steamed and shucked right to you on a cement bar. On Old Winter Garden road and Kirkman

Great new Catfish Place - Curry Ford Area

We just tried this great new catfish place about a block away from us called Big Mikes Catfish 2. Best catfish I've had since some hole in the wall I ate @ near Okeechobee. It's at the Winn Dixie shopping center on Curry Ford near Bumby. Check it out!

Best sushi in Orlando?

Bikkuri sushi on east 50 near Vi-mi is very good and inexpensive. Looks like Bikkuri might be expanding it's small operation into a full service restaurant. Limited seating right now but the upstairs is being converted into a noodle house.

Orlando Thoughts

Other faves in Orlando

For Middle Eastern Food - I'd suggest Tony's Deli on Mills near Virginia, Lebanese and Syrian style cuisine. Lots of fresh, tasty selections and the price is great.

Greek - Greek Corner is very nice right across the street from Lake Ivanhoe and plenty of outdoor seating.

Pizza - Lil' Anthony's in the Colonial Shopping center on Bumby / Get the best calzone @ Broadway Pizza.

Indian - Spice Cafe

Vietnamese - Pho Hoa

Dim Sum - Ming's Bisto right off of south Mills. They have the authentic Dim Sum carts on the weekends.

Italian - Cafe Italiano they've been around since 1965 and they're still doing it right.

Charley's - For steak this place is great but it's getting more and more expensive... even for birthdays!

I second your thoughts on Five Guys Burgers that place is awesome.

Port St. Lucie recs

Cafe Creme is a family frendly german restaurant on the corner or Port St. Lucie Blvd and Westmorland, also has a great breakfast menu. If you're looking for something on the beach The Breakers hotel on Jensen Beach has a great location and good food lunch/dinner. Conchy Joes on US1 is also good for local seafood. If you don't mind a 15 minute drive I'd reccommend a restaurant in Stuart Fl called The Flagler Grill it's fancier than the ones I've mentioned but I've always had great service there and excellent food.
