Vegan near Echo Park tonight -- how's Cru? Cafe Flore, which is just west of Cru has wonderful vegan fare and the prices are incredibly reasonable. Get sorbet at Pazzo Gelato for dessert. |

Drinks near Walt Disney Concert Hall The redcat lounge, in the same building as the concert hall is a pleasant place to drink. Gets a little crowded before a redact show. |

I have only ever seen farro for sale at Trader Joes, but it is part of a farrotto/soup mix which I dislike. I know there must be many other places to purchase plain farro (not part of a mix) in Los Angeles....please advise. |

best fast food(ish) veggie burger? For a fast food veggie burger try sunny grill on venice near the bowling alley, the veggie burger delux is tastey. Avocado and grilled onions. It usually takes a while for them to get the order out but they do have a drive thru so it is convenient. |

There should be at least beer or wine options but preferably a full bar. Hoping to spend about $40 a person. Wedding present: Catered dinner for 2 I am in Los Angeles and I am looking for a caterer to create a romantic dinner for my newly wed friends. I think they live in the Potrero district, but I am not sure. I guess I am looking for something like this http://immaeatchu.wordpress.com/2007/... just small intimate comfortable food. Any recommendations would be appreciated. |

I've recently started eating Moule Frite and I can't get enough. I would love to hear what you guys think are the yummiest.... I would prefer locations anywhere from santa monica to downtown. TIA |
Does mush in santa monica serve alcohol? Also is it silly for only 2 people to go because we won't be able to get a ton of dishes to share? |
I have a friend to entertain and a post regarding pitchers of mojito at O-bar got me thinking. Are there any other fun places east of Fairfax where one can get pitchers of delicious alcohol (not just beer but cocktails)? TIA |

Has anyone tried the empanadas sold at Whole Foods by the Border girls? |
Does anyone know if they still sell the Jones Holiday Pack, and if so where I can find that.... |
Can any fried latke recipe be converted to an oven-baked recipe? Maybe some time under the broiler to brown them? TIA |

New to Mid City LA & need recs There also seems to be this new place, Bloom, on Pico and Curson. I have only seen it open for lunch, it looks very cute. Has anyone tried it yet, or know their hours? |

We're not picky eaters, but one person in our party abhors noisy restaurants. I guess no more than $20 an entree. |

Is there anywhere in Pacific Palisades, that is not terribly overpriced, where I can find a comfortable meal this evening? |

Good espresso and good cheap Mexican in *DOWNTOWN* LA? I agree with the Red Cat Lounge, they serve excellent espresso beverages and their staff is friendly. It's also a beautiful Gehry space. |

Does anyone have any ideas for a macaroon recipe that would make a coconut macaroon similar to the one sold at Manis Bakery and Cafe in Los Angeles. It's dairy free and made with organic whole wheat flour sweetened with organic maple sugar. I love them to death but I want to know how to make them at home. I have no idea where to start. TIA |

My favorite salad involves cleaning a lot of pots, but it is super easy. Add equal amounts quinoa, lentils, brown rice, then add steamed broccoli, red bell pepper, red onion, corn, mint, basil, and cilantro, salt and pepper. My family, who doesn't really accept such overtly healthy food into their meals has really added this salad to their meals happily. I think it is tastey on it's own but my family likes to add salad dressing like a balsamic vinagrette. |

Just to add a few more options I like the chilaquiles at Highland grounds, they add soy chorizo so they are slightly gringo but they're delicious. I also tend to order the chilaquiles at Mexico City. It comes in a green sauce with chicken, it has a nice tang. |

Thanks Euonymous. I made your Kugel for Rosh Hashanah dinner and it was a big hit. The family had never had savory kugel before and it worked well to balance the other sweet foods of the holiday. |
I am not sure if this exists, but can anyone recommend a recipe that is a noodle kugel with onions, or something equally savory. Preferably a recipe without any sugar in it. TIA. |

Chabuya on Sawtelle - Report =) FYI my bf and I once sat at the counter at Chabuya. It was fun to watch the chef and an assistant prepare the ramen. At one point the chef left and the assistant was alone, he sprinkled some white powder from a tupper ware container in the soup bowls before adding the broth. We inquired as to what it was. His answer was that he wasn't sure, but he thought it was MSG, his boss had only called it "Magic Powder." He did say that you can ask the them not to put it in the soup. Having this experience has not stopped me from returning, I think it's a great product. I think the service gets slow and flubbed up if you order appetizers, but otherwise it's quick and attentive. I recently tried the cold noodles Alice mentioned and it is really delicious. |

My brother's birthday demands include dinner at Katsu-ya. He does not care which location but he wanted chef Katsuya Uechi to be working. Is the chef known to work in a specific location or at any of his restaurants? Does his presence have any influence on the quality or taste of the food? |

What to do with Goat milk yogurt bought goat milk yogurt on a whim. I am not enjoying it plain but I imagine it would be good in a savory recipe, can anyone recoommend something? |
