La Mancha on Atlantic, a return visit
I wouldn't say great, but Palo Cortado very good Spanish-themed bistro with an extensive wine and sherry list. Worth a try, but don't expect the homespun atmosphere of La Mancha.

Best Fried Clams/Calamari in Brooklyn?
But Michael, how could you not feed your fans by updating your list with East Harbor Seafood Palace (Chinese) at 65th and Seventh Ave.!

Georgian Food?
Open Saturdays. What they call their baklava is yummy although the thick dough would never satisfy a purist. I brought home a big roll stuffed with sweetened cheese which my family devoured before I got a chance to try it, but the reports were very positive.
Georgian Food?
For Georgian pastries, (no breads) many with variations of walnut fillings, Gayana's Bakery Cafe 418 Ditmas Avenue between East 4th and East 5th St. Also blintzes, turnovers and savory baked goods. Their khachipuri is more like quiche, with cheese on the outside. Delicious but a different item than at Georgian Bread.

AM Thai Kitchen - Kensington
The pumpkin curry is usually great. Try again.
Try the Crispy Duck with rice noodle and chinese broccoli around the corner at Thai Tony's.

Where can I find Ajvar in Brooklyn?
Two places on the same block of Church Avenue carry Ajvar (just had some with my lunch):
Dinosha Albanian Village--has many brands and degrees of hotness.
319 Church Avenue, between E. 3rd and E. 4th streets
(718) 851-9773
Golden Farm has the most commonly found brand "Marco Polo" mild only, but they are open 24/7.
329 Church Avenue, corner of E. 4th Street
(718) 871-1009

Best French (Traditional) Restaurant in Brooklyn?
Petit Oven in Bay Ridge (276 Bay Ridge Ave near 3rd Ave.). Small, maybe 10 tables. Great bistro style food-cassoulet, short ribs, crispy duck. Friendly attentive service.
Best Turkish in Queens/Brooklyn?
Our favorite is Liman Restaurant on Sheepshead Bay, 2710 Emmons Avenue. Great fish in particular, but solid other Turkish. I second Gulluoglu for pastry.
Best North Dumpling, White Bear Dumpling, Xian Famous Foods, House of Yun Ho at Flushing Mall, Nan Xiang Soup Dumplings, Sun Mary Bakery
Were they really pork and fennel? When I ordered those in January, what I got was delicious, but was clearly pork and dill. Ditto on the bag of frozen ones I took home.
Frozen dumplings - favorites? best place to find them?
Best North Dumpling Shop [Flushing] 135-08 Roosevelt Ave. #A4 Great variety to eat there or take away frozen. I loved the "pork and fennel" which was actually pork and dill.

Pupusas at El Continental, 5th Ave (BK)
Outstanding pupusas at Bahia, 690 Grand St. in Williamsburg. Other entrees are fine, too.

Seeking best Turkish food in Sheepshead Area
Limon, on Emmons Avenue, for excellent seafood in particular. Good appetizers and bread, too. Make a reservation on the weekend.
Birthday Dinner - French Food
It pushes your geographic limit, but consider Petit Oven in Bay Ridge (276 Bay Ridge Ave near 3rd Ave.). Small, maybe 10 tables. Great bistro style food-cassoulet, short ribs, crispy duck. Friendly attentive service. I'm sure the owner/chef would give you special attention.
Tamales
Just so Brooklyn is not left out, given the place on Fourth Avenue and 10th closed last summer, on Sunday mornings there is a vendor who sells tamales (chicken, spicy chicken, verde, mole, cheese & chili) out of coolers on the corner of Prospect Park West and Prospect Ave. in front of Joe's Pizza, 259 PPW. Delicious and $1 each. He also sells a beverage which may be the aforementioned champurrado.

Best Jamaican restaurant
I think you mean Daphne's at 233 East 14th between 2nd and 3rd, closer to 2nd Ave. Excellent. Informal.
New Mexican Restaurant in South Slope
We ate there tonight as well and recommend it to others. We also loved the crispy half chicken with spinach and enjoyed the shrimp enchiladas and the tableside guacamole. The owner was very welcoming as were the rest of the staff. Best to ask about BYOB --they are a little nervous while their license is pending.
ISO Brooklyn Seafood, willing to travel
Try Limon, Turkish, with many fresh fish choices. Emmons Ave. on Sheepshead Bay. Sometimes noisy, but good Brooklyn atmosphere, with many Russian families.
where to buy goat meat in Brooklyn
Others may snort, but for goat we like Western Beef, 44 Empire Blvd. at Washington (Prospect Park on the Q train). High turnover, relatively meaty packages. Cheap.
Nice dinner for two under $150
My wife and I have really enjoyed the three (of 22) anniversary dinners we have had at Garden Cafe. I hear Tempo, also great, also has a new $25 prix fixe menu.
Sahadi's
At the prepared food counter: lentils with carmelized onions. Ditto the grape leaves. Mushroom-filled filo triangles.
From the olive bins: spicy olive mix with red peppers and pearl onions.
For BBQs in search of propane
Are you sure you cannot disconnect the tank? Unlikely you can get a propane delivery. Typically, you bring your empty canister and they give you a full one.
Just below Hamilton Avenue in Red Hook:

New Thai in South Slope-not worth it
Maybe they have their off nights or off dishes. I have eaten there twice and I and my friends enjoyed every dish. Standouts were a Crispy Basil Red Snapper, the honey pork appetizer, papaya salad and a shrimp dish, maybe Goong Gratiem Prick Thai. Decent pad thai. Just as a point of reference, I live around the corner from AM Thai and I think Watana was comparable.
PARK SLOPE COOP: what's good this week? butter! what else?
The Coop has carried Dagoba for some time, in several varieties. They are in with the other chocolate bars in the express aisle, just before the "power bar" type bars like Cliff.
iskender recommendations
Sorry to suggest crossing the water, but many times I have had wonderful iskender at Istanbul, Emmons Ave. in Sheepshead Bay. Haven't been there in a year, however.
Lunch near Maimonides?
There's a good homestyle Polish diner/cafe on the 4700 block of New Utrecht--west/hospital side of the street. Good soups.
Best Brooklyn Lox
We recently group taste tested Russ & Daughters against Kosher Bagel Hole, Coney Island Avenue and Ave. N, highly vaunted by Flatbush natives. R&D was a clear winner on smoked salmon (Gaspe) but opinions were surprising close on whitefish salad and pickled herring. BTW, R&D smokes much of their own fish.
Kenya AAA coffee
I just returned from Nairobi two weeks ago. The "in" commercial spot for coffee is the Starbucks-like Nairobi Java House, which brews and sells Kenyan and Ethiopian coffee. All their Kenyan coffee, which I find to be terrific, is AA, for what that is worth.
